Job Description

Summary

The Director of Project Execution is responsible for overall management of project(s), including supervising members of the project management and site management teams, oversight and responsibility for project scope and on-time project implementation, financial oversight of projects, project reporting and monitoring and evaluation of the project. The Director of Project Execution will provide overall strategic governance for projects by establishing standards, processes, methodology, and tools used for effective project delivery.

Essential Job Functions

1. Direct supervision of the Project Management and Site Management team members, including contract labor, as they perform their daily tasks. This includes delegation of tasks, setting timetable for completion, managing hours, and handling disciplinary actions.

2. Responsible for project scope, schedule and budget.

3. Participation in management functions including annual performance reviews, goal setting for team members, time off requests, discipline, etc. Act as a coach and mentor to staff.

4. Monitor and analyze project metrics to identify problems and areas for improvement and propose operational improvements and cost savings for future projects.

5. Participate on the leadership team, including attending monthly leadership team meetings.

6. Oversee the direction and management of project development from beginning to end.

7. Lead and enable project management team to generate and implement the overall development strategy and plan for projects to meet contract requirements and deadlines.

8. Responsible for the overall command of strategy, contingencies, critical path and alternatives, and milestone development budget, communication, reporting, and resources development.

  1. Developing, implementing, improving company project management and site management policies and standards; developing standards and procedures to ensure that ISO 9001 quality standards are met and consistent.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position directly manages a staff of Project Management and Site Management. In the capacity of supervisor, this position is responsible for the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and training of all staff in these departments. This role may also be asked to participate in the recruitment and interviewing of other departments inside the Company.

Education/Experience:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Project Management. Advanced degree preferred.

2. 10 or more years of related experience required, direct industry experience preferred.

3. Experience in managing, designing, implementing, and evaluating multi-million dollars, multi-country projects required.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

1. Superior written and verbal communication skills are essential. This role requires communication at all levels of the organization and with external customers.

2. Advanced understanding of material handling systems, including AS/RS, conveyor, controls, and software and their application to warehousing, distribution, and manufacturing. An in depth understanding of warehousing and material handling equipment is essential.

3. The ability to manage multiple projects and people, demonstrated experience in personnel management is essential.

4. Proficient in MS Project and a moderate to high level of AutoCAD proficiency is essential.

5. SAP familiarity is a plus.
