Job Description

Our client, an elevated sustainable womenswear brand, is seeking a Director of Product Development and Materials to join their team!


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the execution of all product development from market analysis to ideation, design prototypes to customer approval and pre-production to product launch
  • Manage development calendar
  • Lead material research and development
  • Attend seasonal trade shows and coordinate meetings with fabric vendors
  • Develop and maintain factory relations
  • Help to create and define short-term and long-term collaboration strategies for the brand
  • Work cross-functionally with design and merchandising teams to develop fabrics that adhere to quality standards, target costs, and corporate calendar
  • Cost analysis


Requirements:

  • Experience working with both cut & sew and woven materials
  • 8+ years’ experience within Product Development and Material R&D
  • Experience sourcing and developing yarns from China and Europe
  • Prior sustainability experience
  • Experience with the creation and launching of knit downs
  • Strong ability to multi-task
  • Connections with knit and woven mills
  • Excellent communication skills
