As a Director of Product Development, you will play a vital role in shaping our product portfolio, driving innovation, and ensuring our products remain ahead of market trends and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop themes for each product launch and lead kickoff meetings to introduce design concepts to the Design/Product team
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify key initiatives and develop product collections that cater to the needs of retailers and consumers
• Catalog and Sample Management:
• Stay up to date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in the industry
• Manage the sample review and revision process, approving samples for production
• Review and approve catalog content prior to proofing and photography
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to artwork and design
• Conduct thorough market research to identify current and potential new product types
• Create comprehensive product line plans based on data from purchasing and market research
• Product Planning and Strategy:
• Ensure alignment between product development and purchasing strategies
• Manage the end-to-end product development process from concept to shipment, ensuring timely and quality production
• Oversee catalog aesthetics, organization, item details, and display programs
• Supplier and Factory Management:
• Present seasonal trends and brand strategies to key accounts and internal sales teams
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with factories and agents overseas
• Analyze industry trends and consumer preferences to anticipate future product demands
• Utilize insights from internal sales teams, external representatives, customers, and surveys to inform product development strategy
• Market Research and Trend Analysis:
• Determine wholesale pricing in collaboration with the sales team
• Product Line Development:
• Travel and Collaboration:
• Coordinate with designers to send sample specifications to suppliers
• Travel to sourcing markets in China and India as needed to explore new opportunities, build relationships, and ensure quality standards

Qualifications

• Proven experience in project management and cross-functional collaboration
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Willingness to travel internationally as required
• Strong understanding of market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape
• 2-5 years of experience in product development
• Proficiency in using tools such as Google Sheets, Asana, and other project management software
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
