Position Summary:

Responsible for the direction, oversight, and performance of the Purchasing and Warehouse departments.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

· Promotes superior guest service.

  • Responsible for the success of the purchasing process and ensures accuracy of orders and reconciliation of warehouse inventories.
  • Conduct assessments to identify new and reliable supplier partners.
  • Ensures that all personnel, equipment, materials, techniques, and procedures comply with applicable Tribal, federal, state, and local codes and regulations.
  • Maintains and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tâlícn and the Core Values of ilani.
  • Develops partnerships with all departments to foster property goals and guest service excellence.
  • Continuously compare products pricing and service quality to ensure ilani receives the best deals on purchased products and services.
  • Responsible for all short and long-term planning activities including business and budget planning.
  • Maintain accurate records for all purchases for reference purposes.
  • Responsible for oversight of all aspects of the day-to-day operations of purchasing and warehouse departments.
  • Ensures the appropriate flow of information and communication within the assigned departments to maximize efficiency and consistency in all operations.
  • Responsible for the oversight of the KPI indicators such as inventory turns, supplier on time delivery, inventory cycle count accuracy, and purchase price variances.
  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Oversee the management of supplier’s product costs, quality, and delivery performance.
  • Oversees the procurement of products and services for the organization. Identifies and selects potential suppliers by soliciting and reviewing bids, negotiating, and awarding contracts. Maintains current vendor relationships. Negotiates pricing, contracts, and payment terms. Develops and leads the Procurement Team.
  • Evaluate business contracts to ensure compliance with purchasing practices and vendor licensing procedures.
  • Ensure expedited purchase orders and ensure suppliers deliver within set time constraints.
  • Develops and monitors all capital budgets and projects to ensure correctness and completion on a timely basis.
  • Designs, develops, and implements strategic planning activities with sufficient detail to append associated budgets and goals.
  • Coordinates with the Marketing department to assure brand consistency.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership coaching, career development and professional guidance to those positions within the direct reporting lines.
  • Enforces policies and procedures as required by HIPAA, Confidentiality and Privacy laws and rules.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be able to sit in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Intermediate computer skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours.
  • Must be willing to work in a smoking environment.
  • Objective measurement of individuals, teams, and processes to improve organizational performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Three (3) years’ experience purchasing a variety of products and services
  • Two (2) years of leadership experience within a purchasing environment
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills while maintaining positive professional contacts for networking.
  • Effective utilization of evaluation programs.
  • Excellent project management skills and a thorough understanding of project management processes and procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field plus five (5) years of progressive management experience within a high-volume, complex casino and/or hospitality environment, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be willing to adhere to company health and safety measures.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong knowledge of working with a purchasing and inventory software system like Stratten Warren/MMS, Birch Street, or Workday.
