    Purpose


    Coordinate all operational aspects of Men’s Basketball program and provide administrative and logistics coordination support to the Men's Basketball program.


    General Notes


    Additional hours will be required during peak periods to include evenings, weekends, early mornings and holidays. Significant travel. Interstate and intrastate travel is required to include overnight stays. Extended hours including holidays and weekends during games and practices and other contingencies. This job is not suitable for remote work and is expected to work regular on-site hours.


    Responsibilities


    • Drive a UT or rental vehicle on and off campus.

Always act ethically. Proactively seek guidance when unsure or unclear of a law, rule or policy applicable to you or your department/sport program. Actively participate in assigned education and training programs. Comply with all laws, policies, rules and regulations set forth by the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System, The University of Texas at Austin, NCAA, Big 12, or other governing body, including state and federal laws. Annually obtain prior written approval and report all outside activities and outside income. Report knowledge of, or reasonable cause to believe, violation(s) of state or federal laws, policies, rules, or regulations of the University, Big 12 Conference, or NCAA to IA ARMCS or IA HR. Fully cooperate with any investigation by providing complete and accurate information when requested to do so by Texas Athletics and/or the NCAA and do not influence others in any way during an investigation. As an employee of the university, if you witness or receive information about sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence or stalking that involves a current student or employee, you have a duty to promptly report the incident to the University’s Title IX Coordinator or a Deputy Title IX Coordinator. Reports may be made by phone, email or online.     • Develop collaborative relationships with Texas Athletics and University departments to refer and provide resources to provide guidance and direction to student-athletes, as appropriate. Liaison with T-Association, the Longhorn Foundation, External Affairs, Student Services and related areas.
    • Coordinate preparation of Men's Basketball camp operations, to include camp budget preparations, expenses, and projections, scheduling, logistics, housing, transportation, apparel, equipment, and securing camp facilities. Maintain camp website, prepare all correspondence related to camp publications and maintain correspondence with attendees. Hire, and supervise camp coaches and counselors. Recruit, enroll camp participants and collect payments. Complete and submit camp documentation by established deadlines.
    • Liaison with compliance officer to ensure compliance with all Big XII and NCAA rules and regulations. Responsible for adhering to University, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations while supporting the core values of intercollegiate athletics.
    • Assists the Head Men's Basketball Coach, the Associate Head Men's Basketball Coach, the Assistant Men's Basketball Coaches as assigned.
    • Significant responsibility in (but not limited to) these areas: coordinate the day-to-day operations for the Men's Basketball program. Manage team schedule and ensure robust communication with stakeholders to ensure smooth operations. Collaborate with events and facilities to coordinate scheduling day-to-day practices, event set-up, logistics and operations. Provide oversight and fiscal management of operating budget. Order, store, distribute and maintain inventory of all team apparel and equipment. Assist in monitoring weekly/hourly student athlete practice and competition hours and required days off. Assist coaching staff with timely production and submission of required documents. Hire, evaluate and supervise student managers.
    • Contribute in several administrative and operational areas of the program including but not limited to: oversee all aspects of team travel to include charter flight coordination, the team hotel meal and meeting rooms, guest rooms, ground transportation and team meals. Assist with the planning and coordinating of official and unofficial visits to campus by prospective student-athletes.


    Required Qualifications


    Bachelor’s Degree. At least 10 years of experience in an NCAA Division I Intercollegiate Athletics basketball program. At least 10 successful years of professional experience in the areas of operations and/or coaching. At least 5 years of experience working as Director of Operations in an NCAA Division I Intercollegiate Athletic Basketball program. At least 5 years of experience working in collaboration with key business partners in a Division I athletics program including Compliance, Accounting, Academics, Human Resources and Administration. Experience hiring, supervising and evaluating employees. Experience as a Student-Athlete in collegiate athletics.


    Demonstrated success interacting and engaging highly skilled basketball players and coaching staff; Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills to enhance interaction with student-athletes, peers, alumni, administrative personnel, and the community. Demonstrated professional demeanor. Technological proficiency. Demonstrated the ability to provide critical thinking and consultation to achieve positive outcomes.


    Demonstrated exceptional character traits in integrity and fairness. Current and working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Ability to project the image of the University of Texas and the Athletics Department with dignity and grace regardless of circumstances and environments.     Driving Required


    This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.
