We are looking for an Operations Director who reports to and works closely with the

Head of Finance & Operations as well as other business leaders across a fast-moving & demanding beauty industry CPG company.



POSITION OVERVIEW

As the Operations Director you will lead the ghd Operations team and responsible for Logistics in the North America market, which covers areas like: Demand planning, 3PL management, Order-Shipping-Billing, Supply Chain coordination with Global and Manufacturing, Inventory Management & Customer Allocation, Quality Control & Returns, Customer Service, Warehouse overview, New Customer setup, Samples, Packaging requirements and planning. The expectation is to be a key leader and owner of ghd NA Supply Operations, ensuring excellent execution to serve our customer needs, while fueling the growth momentum and optimizing the supply chain Cost, Cash & Service levels. Fast adoption of systems and processes to take over ghd Operations will be required, together with continuous development to optimize processes and cost. In addition, becoming a fully integrated member of the ghd team, sharing the passion for the Brand and for winning in the NA market is also crucial.


JOB ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement roadmap to optimize Supply Network design, analyze make vs buy decisions, local vs global production and customization to optimize service level, cash flow and cost.
  • Manage team to achieve high performance, meet business goals, and develop individual growth.
  • Develop effective management routines and partnerships to help achieve targeted performance and drive operational improvement.
  • Key liaison with warehouse – orders, product kitting new items/limited editions/special bundles, receiving of inventory, QA issues, etc.
  • Identify key opportunities to improve monthly inventory position.
  • Samples management, process internal orders (sales, studio, schools), support for Sales & Marketing team
  • QC – coordinate QC for new product with warehouse/UK, QVC special QC process, etc.
  • Identify opportunities, models desired outcomes, and effectively manages performance
  • Be integrated in the ghd Operations team and become a key contributor to fuel the business momentum and deliver our aggressive growth targets and develop functional skill set and
  • Packaging – new packaging and packaging changes (ordering UPC over stickers, new labels, review global packaging artwork etc)
  • Contribute to New Items set up - UPC’s/case pack/box dimensions.
  • Other ad hoc support, i.e. track and trace, hardware/IT etc.
  • Logistics - scheduling order pickups with warehouse, working with Forwarder for Oversea Shipments + tracking customer shipments.
  • Excellent communication and ability to translate vision, findings and recommendations to senior leadership to gain alignment, affect change and influence long term strategies, including co-creation with senior leadership
  • Communicate and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and relevant metrics to measure and evaluate the end-to-end strategic supply chain operations.
  • Operations coordination with Global team (UK team) on invoices/POs issued and receiving of goods into our systems.
  • Customer returns management (issuing forms, communication with warehouse, collaboration with Finance & Accounting
  • Customer service, communication with customers (issues, shipment related questions)
  • Build and grow all aspects of portfolio governance across Supply Chain, including program and budget management, performance tracking, communication, and reporting, and analytics.
  • Inventory management & allocation control – ensuring customer orders are in accordance with their demand & allocation, and reporting to Management and Marketing/Sales any challenges.


QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably: BS Business Administration or Supply Chain management)
  • 7-10+ years of relevant Supply Chain and/or Operations experience
  • Proven capability to work in a highly complex business environment and understand the bigger end-to-end supply chain picture.
  • Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and organizational/time management skills.
  • Ability to think strategically while also managing process changes and ground-level activities.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to work cross-functionally to resolve issues and generate results among potentially conflicting constituencies.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills to both internal and external executives
  • Highly effective communication skills: ability to present to a wide range of stakeholders across different teams and levels of the organization.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing environments and learn new processes.
  • Solid technical skills in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work collaboratively with different styles and develop strong partnerships.
