In addition, it has built strong partnerships with multiple trusted overseas manufacturing partners that allowed them to develop high value and quality products in a timely manner.

The addition of new shipping points in the coming years has enabled the business to meet the market’s demands quickly and positioned the business to stay a top retailer vendor partner and to scale continuously.

Job Summary

As part of the strategic growth plan, we are looking for an experienced, collaborative, and entrepreneurial Director of Operations to lead its operations team and work closely with the co-founders as the business continues to scale rapidly.

The Director of Operations will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day business operations across inventory management, warehouse inbound/outbound activities, product storage, IT systems, and order processing. In addition, the Director will establish strategies and implement processes to maximize operational efficiency, provide accurate inventory data to support effective commercial decisions and achieve business goals while maintaining a safe environment for workers.

The Director will utilize superior organizational and problem-solving skills to improve systems and enhance speed and accuracy of delivery.

This is a full time, office-based role in Los Angeles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own and manage daily warehouse and logistics operations to support the commercial team to achieve business objectives and revenue goals.
• Create procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
• Plan, organize, and monitor business resources including people, equipment, inventory, and time, to ensure a smooth, highly efficient and consistent operation daily.
• Ensure associates' ability to perform their jobs in a safe, efficient, and effective manners.
• Participate in mid-term business strategy planning through sharing accurate data analytics and operational insights.
• Implement cycle counting and/or physical inventories using inventory system reports, inventory software and count sheets in order to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Lead and manage the Operations team to ensure employee performance is in accordance with established company standards and procedures and within budgeted guidelines and delivery deadlines.
• Maintain positive relationships with other departments and ability to work collaboratively.
• Establish best-in-class processes and guidelines to continuously improve and maximize operational productivity and business profitability.
• Oversee HR and recruitment related tasks.
• Create, maintain and provide product inventory reports weekly to commercial business leader(s) to best support business development efforts and ensure timely and accurate product deliveries.
• Maintain warehouse and Operational Safety and Adherence to regulations.
• Together with Co-founders, support ERP system implementation to ensure a smooth transition and effective utilization after implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Highly analytical with the ability to identify business issues, operational bottlenecks and problem solve with limited direction.
• Knowledge and experience in logistics, 3PL, project management, network optimization, distribution optimization, process improvement, strategic planning, supplier/carrier selection and rate negotiations.
• Entrepreneurial leader with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
• Capability and track record of defining data driven analysis and “KPI’s”.
• Bachelor’s Degree in business, supply chain management, or equivalent.
• A self-starter with a “can do” and “no job is too small” attitude and the passion to solve business challenges creatively with limited resources.
• ERP software experience, NetSuite preferred.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
• Understanding of 5S/6S and ISO 9001 quality management system.
• Experience in managing HR tasks for the facility and in charge of hiring process of new employees related to the daily operations of the business.
• 10+ years of relevant operations experience in operations in a fulfillment/ pick/pack/ship environment with track record or implementing structures and processes.
