The Director of Learning and Development is responsible for improving the effectiveness and productivity of the workforce through the management, implementation, and maintenance of various learning programs. This role assesses the organizational development needs to cultivate learning solutions for Cherry Health employees. This position leads the Learning & Development team to actively search, creatively design and effectively implement appropriate methods to educate and enhance performance.

Requirements


  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training impact.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience in organizing, developing, and implementing services and programs in a professional setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated tactical and strategic leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, productivity modeling, and coordination of people and resources.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ professional, progressively responsible experience in development and learning field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job listed below.


Responsibilities


  • Conducts annual and as-needed training and development needs assessment.
  • Compile and evaluate data to analyze issues, ensuring alignment with Cherry Health policies and practices.
  • Evaluate external training resources to maximize learning opportunities and cost effectiveness.
  • Designs, manages and maintains oversight of onboarding, leadership development and individual development programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provides leadership in the design and implementation of continuing education offerings through collaboration with subject matter experts to ensure exceptional quality, effectiveness of learning in all content and accreditation requirements.
  • Establishes learning objectives and develops the appropriate training to support.
  • Exercise continuous improvement practices to modify and improve existing learning programs.
  • Sources and creates effective training materials using variety of media.
  • Manage annual training budget ensuring fiscal responsibility and maximization of resources.
  • Create apprenticeships and structured preceptor program, creating pathways for development and talent pipeline
  • Utilizes appropriate evaluation tools and methodology to assess training effectiveness and transfer of knowledge.
  • Partners with Human Resources team to guide and coach leaders regarding employee development efforts.
  • Collaborate with various internal stakeholders to align strategy and prioritization.
