VNA of Ohio is Hiring an Director of Home Health/Homecare


At Visiting Nurse Association of Ohio, we are looking for dependable, compassionate people interested in gaining experience and becoming an invaluable resource to our organization. VNA of Ohio is now hiring an Ohio Director of Home Health and skill set may be an ideal match for this opportunity. This is a full-time, exempt position.


As a vital community resource for more than 121 years, VNA of Ohio is the most trusted home health and hospice provider. We serve patients and families in 8 counties throughout Northeast providing care to patients, wherever they call home.


The Director plans, implements and directs clinical services and operations to insure the delivery of competent, high quality care and service to home health patients and families. Provides direction and leadership to clinical management and staff, supports clinical practice, assists with business and program development, monitors and evaluates quality of care and service delivery for home health programs. Directs the overall coordination of service and business operations and support for clinical areas.


Duties To Include But Not Limited To The Following


  • Coordinates efforts between home care and other organizational departments.
  • Manages operations to stated objectives with regard to budgets, quality, service, expertise, efficiency and delivery.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintains a competent workforce in the support of clinical care. Supervises staff, including hiring, training, professional growth, performance management, quality, service, and discipline and terminations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred or a minimum of 5 years of management experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills are essential.
  • Establishes implements, oversees, and assures adherence to written policies and procedures in the delivery of clinical services and in accordance with all local, national, and accrediting body standards.
  • Contributes to the overall short-and long-range planning process working toward the organization’s mission.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Oversees compliance of established organizational policies.
  • Directs the daily activities of the medical/surgical, and mental health programs in support of the organizational mission and goals.
  • Demonstrates professional growth and development through participation in educational activities to maintain current clinical knowledge and skills and participation in professional and specialty organizations,
  • Plans, implements and evaluates the effectiveness of clinical programs.
  • Stays abreast of regulatory and compliance requirements and assures adherence to all regulations of all applicable State, Federal and accrediting bodies.
  • Reviews and monitors standards of clinical care and assures compliance. Monitors the quality of care and services provided.
  • Oversees productivity standards and efficiency of staff and operating systems.
  • Promotes desirable community support and action through public awareness and community education activities.
  • Participates in the investigation and implementation of new services, processes or systems technologies to meet objectives in hospice.
  • Directs the delivery of clinical care and services in accordance with and adherence to policies and procedures of the agency and accrediting organizations – provides clinical and administrative direction as necessary.
  • Minimum of three years of home health experience preferred.
  • Responsible for record and reporting systems providing for appropriate service control, uniform accounting and evaluation of program outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise staff and experience in program planning and implementation.
  • Prepares reports on program performance and activities for the Board.
  • Promotes professional development through appropriate educational and organizational activities. Plans, implements and evaluates orientation and ongoing education of all clinical staff.
  • Maintains current knowledge of industry, regulations and market trends.


Required Licenses, Registrations And/or Certifications


  • BLS Certification
  • Registered Nurse licensed in the state of Ohio
  • Valid Ohio State Driving License
