Bumperactive is a 38-team member sticker, t-shirt and merch printshop located in Austin Texas. Our largest business area focuses on building and administering print-on-demand online storefronts for a wide range of clients, from political campaigns, community organizations and podcasts.

Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Fulfillment to join our growing team. As the Director of Fulfillment, you will be responsible for directing and overseeing all aspects of our fulfillment operations. This is a critical role that requires a strong leader with exceptional organizational and communication skills. The Director designs and develops fulfillment policies and procedures, and they ensure that orders are shipped in a timely and accurate manner. They coordinate rapid scaling up and down of fulfillment staff and infrastructure in response to peak seasons. The Director works closely with the GM, Warehouse Operations, Production Departments, Vendors, 3PL Operations, Software Teams, and Webstore Account Executives. They are responsible for hiring and training all fulfillment staff. The Director sets high standards for efficiency and achievement.

  • Collaborate with the external shipping software team, and the internal fulfillment software team, to make improvements to the software functionality
  • Direct a team of fulfillment supervisors and associates, providing guidance and leadership to ensure operational excellence
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed to meet operational goals
  • Uphold company standards defined in the handbook, ensuring compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, and maintaining an OSHA-compliant workspace
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and accuracy in all fulfillment activities
  • Provide annual performance reviews and make recommendations for wage increases
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of new products and processes into the fulfillment center
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the fulfillment center, including receiving, storing, processing and shipping products
  • Oversee peak season fulfillment, which includes oversight of a 24/7 operation, 10K per week order volume, and unique organization and planning obstacles
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our fulfillment operations
  • Give in-the-moment coaching on team and individual performance. Ensure that trends of underperformance are formally addressed with Human Resources, with clear and documented improvement plans
  • Work closely with customer service and sales teams to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of orders
  • Develop and oversee budgets for the fulfillment center and monitor expenses to ensure they are in line with company goals

Qualifications:

  • Experienced in Microsoft Office, G-Workspace, Slack, and proprietary Company created Software programs
  • Strong analytical skills with the aptitude to use data to drive solution-making
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and order management systems (OMS)
  • Proven track record of consistently delivering on KPIs
  • Strong leadership skills with the propensity to motivate and inspire teams to achieve operational goals
  • Experience in fulfillment operations, including at least 3 years in a management or leadership role
  • Excellent knowledge of fulfillment best practices
  • Forklift and pallet jack certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and direct multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement and project management

Work environment

  • Moderate to loud noise level (printing equipment, light traffic) depending on the area.
  • Working near moving mechanical parts
  • Primarily Indoors (air-conditioned environment), frequent non-air-conditioned environment in warehouse and print shop when traveling between departments and while assisting others. During peak seasons, all fulfillment staff may be required to work in a non-conditioned warehouse. Temperatures range from 50 degrees to 100 degrees.

Physical demands

  • Must be able to lift, pull, push, and carry objects
  • Able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs frequently
  • Able to repeat motions and tasks that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers on a daily basis
  • Using equipment such as dollies and rolling bins to transport materials
  • Able to bend, stoop, crouch, crawl or kneel frequently
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
