Job Title: Finance Director
Location: Cambridge, MA 02139 (Hybrid 2 days per week)
Client: Pre-IPO high technology company
Compensation: Targeting $200-210K salary plus bonus, equity, and benefits
About the Company
The company has developed a breakthrough technology and is on the cusp of large-scale commercialization. They are now building out their team to support its growth.
Scope of Position / Responsibilities
Reporting to the VP of Finance, this person will serve as the number two finance & accounting resource at the company and be the “right hand person” to the VP of Finance. This is a newly created role overseeing the Controller and a team of Accountants totaling a 7-person department. The core responsibilities of this role will be to manage financial reporting including SEC filings, and internal management reporting while also developing and coordinating financial planning, budgeting, and modeling. In addition, this role will be a key member of the Finance team who will have the opportunity to contribute throughout the company as it grows. Will work closely with the finance and accounting teams as well as all other departments to execute the core responsibilities described above as well as to support the overall finance function and broader management team.
- Ensure quality control over financial reporting and financial transactions
- Assist with the development and documentation of business processes and polices
- Manage financial planning and budgeting processes
- Continuous improvement of quality and efficiency of systems, processes, and internal controls
- Assist in the management of financial processes and general ledger close
- Lead internal and SEC financial reporting
Qualifications
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Minimum 8+ years of professional accounting and finance experience
- Strong background within technical accounting and SEC reporting
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree is preferred)
- Experience supporting a pre-IPO organization, ideally within the technology or manufacturing industry
- Active CPA certification, with ideally a foundation in top tier public accounting
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
