Position Overview:

As the Public Relations Director for a luxury retail company, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing strategic communications initiatives to enhance the company's brand image, reputation, and customer loyalty. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of public relations, media relations, and corporate communications. This position requires a deep understanding of the luxury retail industry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media outlets, influencers, and industry professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee agency relationships and partner selection in alignment with the VP
• Serve as the right hand to VP, Marketing & Communications; Manages a team of 2-3
• Fully oversee PR & Media Relations; Drive and execute strategies to achieve desired goals and business results; the candidate must possess senior level editorial, media and industry contacts
• Brand champion and ambassador for MCM; inspires and uplifts the team, drives alignment with key stakeholders, participates and leads through example and upholds the values of the organization
• Plan and executes 360 marketing programs to deliver against business goals; coaches and works with team to deliver timely plans, reports, recaps, etc.
• Lead through P/L with smart management of the marketing budget; own and oversee the budget in alignment with VP and Finance stakeholders
• Oversee VIP and Influencer relationships; Strategy and execution; candidate should have a basic understanding of social media platforms and be knowledgeable of best practices

Experience & Key Competencies:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling and persuasive content.
• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
• Knowledge of current industry trends, key influencers, and relevant media outlets.
• Proven experience as a Public Relations Director or similar role within the luxury retail industry.
• Experience in crisis communications and reputation management.
• Proficiency in using PR tools and software for media monitoring, analytics, and reporting.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong media relations skills and a well-established network of media contacts.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
