Position Summary:

The Director of Aftersales will be responsible for leading a team of technicians and engineers in all aspects of service support and operations nationwide for SEA Electric’s EV trucks and technology. In this role you will, manage and mentor a rapidly growing, technical group. A strong automobile aftermarket background is preferred with experience utilizing telematics, remote diagnosis, and phone/email to diagnose and repair vehicles. Customer satisfaction and vehicle downtime are key metrics. The successful candidate will manage nationwide support for operations and management of aftermarket vehicle service including building, parts, vehicle service, and warranty. This position reports to Vice President, Business Operations and can be located in Des Moines, IA, Detroit Michigan, or the Los Angeles area.

Duties/Responsibilities:


  • Reporting on accounts, solutions, and trends
  • Support regional and national events, trade shows, and training events as required.
  • Oversee warranty process for Commercial vehicles.
  • Directly manage Service Engineers and Technicians setting priorities for team travel requirements, issue resolution, and maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate on the training of external service partners for maintenance and diagnostics.
  • Analyzing business metrics on a regular basis and clearly communicating results and opportunities.
  • Create and execute strategic plans to ensure each location within SEA meets targets.
  • Lead regional and national teams on projects as required such as document creation, diagnostics, AMS development, and training development.
  • Other duties as needed to support SEA Electric
  • Coach and develop SEA Service Engineers/Technicians on diagnostic methods.
  • Continuously develop, build, and validate the accuracy of SEA AMS (Service Management System) to track issues, detect risk trends, and communicate to management as early warnings.
  • Manage cross-functional employee personnel groups in all regions such as technical documents, engineering, drivers, parts, warranty, and shop employees.

Education and requirements:


  • Strong planning, organizational, communication, and writing skills.
  • BS/BA in Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite required.
  • A strong interest in renewables is a plus
  • Must work and interact well with others in a highly collaborative environment.
  • High Voltage and EV experience plus
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • At least 8+ years’ experience in diagnostics, service management,
  • Understanding of diagnostic and CAN monitoring tools.
  • Strong leadership skills; and technical training experience.
  • Able to travel >40% of the time.

For jobs advertised in CA, CO and NYC, the estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 to $170,000, USD. Base salary offers depend on job-related factors, which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition to a competitive base salary, SEA Electric offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, life and disability insurance, paid time off and a 401(k) plan with a match.
