Director Of Accounting Jobs

Our retail client is looking for a Director of Accounting. They are going through explosive growth and needs to add an experienced manager to the accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for the accounting department and general ledger completeness and accuracy; responsible for enforcing and maintaining a system of internal controls that ensures that company assets are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with all financial policies, SOX requirements and US GAAP. This Director level position operates on a hybrid schedule out of their Fort Lauderdale, FL office.
Responsibilities:

• Oversee inventory compliance.
• Assist with the design and implementation of accounting policies and procedures in accordance with USGAAP, including lease accounting, inventory management, and fixed assets.
• Responsible for reviewing monthly/quarterly account reconciliations.
• Oversee the general accounting function, which includes internal financial reporting, month-end close, account reconciliations, billing and inter-company accounting, and balance sheet management.
• Accountable for ensuring that internal controls are enforced and maintained to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected.
• Assist the VP of Finance with the implementation of the Sarbanes Oxley activities relative to internal controls documentation and testing and segregation of duties.
• Responsible for accounting of leases, review, and analysis of lease agreements.
• Ensure monthly financial close process and preparation of financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows are delivered in an accurate and timely manner.
• Be the main contact point for the internal and external auditors.

Qualifications:

• 4-year degree in Accounting; MBA a plus.
• Proven track record of managing teams under compressed deadlines and meeting set deliverables.
• Retail experience and a strong understanding of Inventory are highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Dynamics and JDE Accounting systems preferred.
• Minimum of 3-4 years in Public Accounting is highly preferred.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel are required.
