The Starbucks Global Channel Development team collaborates with some of the world’s leading food and beverage companies to develop marketing, innovation, and digital experiences on Starbucks products delivered in channels outside of our retail cafes, including at home coffee, ready-to-drink coffee, and foodservice coffee experiences.

The Director of Global Coffee Alliance (GCA), Global Foodservice will be a key leader on the Global Channel Development team at Starbucks, working to build a world-class partnership with Nestle, by offering Starbucks beverages in non-commercial foodservice businesses globally in almost 50 markets. Non-commercial foodservice establishments are businesses where food & beverage are not the primary business focus, such as offices, college & university, healthcare, and lodging.
The Director of GCA, Global Foodservice will work together with Nestle’s teams on foodservice coffee beverages and programs to amplify the reach of the brand while ensuring quality experiences that elevate the brand. This leader will be responsible for brand management and stewardship including category leading innovation, quality management and strategic growth initiatives.
This leader must have a partner and customer first focus, with a curiosity about global business and a growth mindset. They must be able to influence with impact, both within Starbucks, and with leadership at Nestle. A proven track record of developing strong relationships, driving results, and excellent communication skills are paramount to success.

Summary Of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Leadership
  • Sets an example on how to build strong and successful world class partnerships, and builds this skill within their team 

  • Creates a culture of collaboration (across functions, regions and with Nestle) & innovative thinking within Starbucks, to drive enterprise level thinking.
Strategic Planning
  • Identifies strategies and tactics to develop our business, through a strong knowledge of the business/channels, and through successfully gaining enterprise level perspective within Starbucks
  • Creates the vision and long-term strategy for Starbucks foodservice channels, as well as the annual plan process for North America
Business Development
  • Leads new business development conversations in partnership with Corp Development, Finance, Legal, and key cross functional partners internal and external
  • Skilled negotiator who sees the whole, communicates with confidence/clarity, thrives in high stakes
Partner Development & Team Building
  • Leads a matrixed and diverse team of Starbucks partners based around the world, including strategy and brand management, compliance, program management and innovation
  • Has a successful track record of coaching and developing partners, and in building strong teams.
  • Responsible for leading and inspiring their partners, and the broader channel development organization, to build best in class talent for Starbucks.

  • Deep understanding of branded foodservice, licensing and/or retail

  • Strong financial and commercial acumen
  • Ability to work in a cross functional, global, matrix environment
  • Strong agility, initiative, and ability to work under pressure with competing priorities
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in roles which centered on brand stewardship, strategy and business development.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • Excellent communication, influencing and collaboration skills
