The Role


The Director of Content Marketing is tasked with delivering meaningful content experiences that build trust and consideration to enable our customer to take positive financial action with Prudential.


Raise the profile of our brand and highlight our differentiation by creating and implementing content marketing strategy. This role will support our brand and business strategies by leading integrated campaigns, extending the reach of existing messaging and developing new content that engages and inspires internal and external audiences.


This role is best suited for a creative strategist with an entrepreneurial spirit and a business owner mindset. Someone that thrives on the excitement of building new opportunities, creating structure from ambiguity, and can partner with multiple stakeholders to drive action.


Responsibilities:


  • Implement and utilize tools and technology to track and analyze content effectiveness and its role in business growth
  • Commission and guide research, and analyze data to uncover insights that help optimize strategic plans and content execution and delivery
  • Collaborate with brand, line of business, media, sponsorship, social, creative, and SEO teams to create/curate content experiences that accelerates business results, as well as builds brand consideration and thought leadership
  • Coordinate with analytics, digital marketing, and media to test and optimize content including SEO and search results
  • Translate brand strategy and activation activities into compelling content opportunities by identifying themes and hooks to build internal and external audience engagement
  • Lead, coach, and nurture Content Marketing team responsible for executing content campaigns
  • Think strategically about how to repurpose content for use across multiple channels including paid, owned, earned, and shared. Use audience insights, customer segments and messaging themes to build an integrated content plan
  • Lead planning, development and implementation of brand and line of business content marketing, content development and distribution strategies
  • Partner cross functionally with brand and line of business marketing partners to align on priority projects that deliver on brand and business objectives
  • Responsible for mapping content journeys, ideation and execution of content, measuring and reporting on impact and learnings to drive brand and business objectives


This role is hybrid with onsite work in Newark, NJ 1-2 days per week.


Your Expertise


What you’ll need to succeed:


  • Excellent communicator with proven ability to clearly convey complex ideas and data in written, presentation and spoken formats to a variety of audiences
  • Proven experience with integrated, personalized B2B and B2C campaigns utilizing the Adobe tech stack
  • Ability to understand, digest, and distil complex concepts for mass consumption via engaging content
  • Proven ability to create content strategies that increase consideration and drive demand, including personas, insights, compelling messaging strategy, journey maps, content touch points, asset development, in market implementation via Adobe, measurement, and optimization
  • Passionate about brand purpose and employee engagement to drive brand impact
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field and a minimum of 7 years in Marketing with 3+ years in a Content Marketing
  • Strong understanding of website, search engine marketing, social media, newsletter, paid and earned media and measurement
  • Proven ability to thrive in a high energy environment where tactical and strategic activities are expected to be driven in parallel
  • Strong collaboration and negotiation skills, showing an ability to influence without ownership, gaining support and trust across the organization to achieve agreed-upon business outcomes


Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $133,800.00 to $181,000.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
