Within the Scooter’s Coffee brand sits Harvest Roasting, which includes our warehouse, bakery, and roastery. Harvest Roasting serves as the supplier to all of our coffeehouse locations, including corporate and franchise owned, providing weekly product deliveries of the vast majority of products needed for daily business. Location

This position may be performed with flexible working arrangements, including a mix of work from home and in-office work. Scooter’s Coffee is headquartered in Omaha, NE. The successful candidate lives in Omaha, NE. Relocation is not available for this role.


Description

We are seeking a strategic and data-driven Director of Competitive and Consumer Insights to lead our organization's efforts in understanding market dynamics, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape. Your team's work will drive strategic business decisions about how to grow based on competitive and consumer insights. You will work with a team to aggregate insights, identify opportunities, recognize trends and communicate findings with organizational leaders. . You will also be responsible for guiding and developing a team of insight professionals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, a proven track record of deriving actionable insights from market and consumer data, and the ability to guide cross-functional teams in making informed business decisions. This role is essential in shaping our company's strategies, enhancing our competitive advantage, and ensuring customer-centricity across our offerings.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Market Analysis:

· Lead the development and execution of comprehensive market analysis to identify industry trends, opportunities, and threats.

· Monitor macroeconomic factors, industry regulations, and emerging technologies that could impact the company's competitive positioning.


2. Consumer Behavior Insights:

· Design and oversee research initiatives to understand consumer preferences, needs, and behaviors across different segments.

· Utilize various qualitative and quantitative research methods to gather actionable insights for product development, marketing, and customer experience enhancement.


3. Competitive Landscape:

· Conduct thorough competitor assessments, including analysis of products, pricing strategies, distribution channels, and market share.

· Identify gaps in the market and recommend strategies to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate competitive threats.

· Monitor key brand health measures and dissect market and competitive data to provide insights from competitor assessments.


4. Data Analysis and Interpretation:

· Oversee the collection, organization, and analysis of data from various sources to uncover patterns, trends, and actionable insights.

· Collaborate with data analytics teams to develop predictive models that inform business strategies and drive informed decision-making.


5. Cross-functional Collaboration:

· Partner with product development, marketing, operations, and executive teams to provide insights that guide product roadmaps, pricing strategies, and go-to-market plans.

· Present findings and recommendations in a clear and compelling manner to stakeholders at all levels.


6. Thought Leadership:

· Stay abreast of industry developments, best practices, and innovative research methodologies to continuously improve the quality of insights generated.

· Act as an internal advocate for consumer-centric thinking and data-driven decision-making.


7. Team Leadership:

· Build, mentor, and lead a team of competitive and consumer insights professionals, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.

· Provide guidance, set performance expectations, and ensure the team's efforts align with organizational goals.


Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics or related field

· 10+ years of work experience in Marketing Research, Consumer Insights, and/or Data Analytics

· 3+ years’ experience in a people leadership role

· Proven ability to leverage data and insights to drive strategic decision-making.

· Comfortable working with all types of data including survey, CRM, sales and market share

· Strong familiarity with various research methodologies, data analysis tools, and market intelligence platforms.

· Experience and knowledge of customer journey, product concept, and product development lifecycles.

· Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

· Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with the capacity to convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

· Demonstrated experience in leading and developing high-performing teams.

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
