The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) is the voice and advocate for the U.S. video game industry. Its members are the innovators, creators, publishers, and business leaders that are reimagining entertainment and transforming how we interact, learn, connect, and play. The ESA works to expand and protect the dynamic marketplace for video games through innovative and engaging initiatives that showcase the positive impact of video games on people, culture, and the economy.
Position Summary:
The Digital Marketing/Communications Manager will support the ESA’s positive storytelling efforts across its digital platforms, including social media channels, the ESA website and digital advertising.
The Digital Manager serves as a member of the Communications & Public Affairs team, supporting the campaigns and tactics designed to influence policymakers in D.C. and key states. The position reports to the SVP, Communications & Public Affairs and collaborates cross-departmentally to advance the association’s communications, public affairs and member advocacy goals.
This role will make recommendations on digital content; post organic content and place ad campaigns; track the results of campaigns; and help develop strategies to increase engagement and improve performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Use A/B testing to optimize digital marketing performance.
- Analyze the results and effectiveness of campaigns to deliver actionable insights and recommendations and generating monthly reports on the digital marketing portfolio.
- Support in planning for the digital marketing budget and responsible for negotiating and executing buys with different vendors.
- Regularly monitor digital analytics and use these insights to drive strategies to increased engagement and improved performance.
- Oversee social engagement and make recommendations on engaging with followers, ESA member companies and other relevant third-party groups.
- Ensure that marketing and communications efforts adhere to agreed timelines and manage expectations with various internal and member stakeholders.
- Review and optimize the content of all online assets, including the company website and social media channels.
- Develop and implement comprehensive digital marketing programs across all digital channels, including web, SEO/SEM, database marketing, email, social media, and display advertising campaigns, in line with campaign strategies and organizational priorities.
- Develop content and work with in-house designer to create complementary art assets. Post social content.
Key Requirements:
- Ability to thrive in matrix environments and adept at building relationships with different stakeholders.
- Experience with digital media planning and buying.
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in digital mediums.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Creative thinker and problem solver.
- Strong knowledge of various aspects of digital marketing, including SEO, social media marketing, email marketing, marketing automation, and digital marketing analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Tableau.
