Job Description
Position Summary:


The Digital Learning Manager will support the Director of Digital Learning with the execution and implementation of virtual learning experiences. This hands-on role works with client teams, clients and the Director to integrate technology into Duke CE programs and improve participant experiences in online, blended and simulated learning environments.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Under the guidance of the Director, help onboard, support and mentor global Digital Learning Specialists into the Digital Team.
  • Build basic organization structure and review platform restrictions created by others against data privacy requirements.
  • Collaborate and consult with internal and external key stakeholders across Duke CE to provide guidance on best practices for conceptualizing digital learning experiences in various environments and delivery models.
  • Work with project teams to identify and develop new business or additional revenue opportunities through the platform.
  • Researches and implements appropriate and innovative digital methods; partners with SMEs to support the creation / development of digital learning IP.
  • Translate design into digital learning experiences in collaboration with stakeholders and subject matter experts, managing to schedule and advising on the quality of deliverables, engaging the Director of Digital Learning as needed.
  • Other job duties and special projects as may be assigned.
  • Manage internal stakeholders and partner with project team members to create realistic timelines and workflows to incorporate the platform into their design process based on resources and capacity available on the Digital Learning Team.
  • Supports digital learning engagement/programs as a platform subject matter expert.
  • Translates educator content into MyDukeCE platform (Internal LMS) for client / project use.
  • Work with clients and internal staff to ensure tools, technology and platforms align with client and Duke CE infrastructures.
  • Make informed recommendations on changes and/or adjustments to learning technology and experiences based on client performance and participant feedback data. Seeks user feedback on learning tools, innovations, and platforms to measure the impact and effectiveness of experiences.
  • Translate the vision of a design into technical specifications for Digital Learning Specialists to build in the platform.
  • Educate clients on capabilities of the platform and lead project teams in managing client expectations/involvement while creating digital experiences for their programs.
  • Lead Digital Learning Specialists in consultative practices with internal teams by coaching and feedback.
  • Research emerging learning technologies and best practices for their effective use.
  • Collaborate with project teams globally to share knowledge and support with translating design into digital learning experiences.
  • Provide friendly, responsive, and competent support to Duke CE employees on a wide range of learning technologies.
  • Support business development requests by advising on scoping and pricing for digital aspects of new work in the platform.
  • Develop knowledge and digital skill set of project teams by delivering one-on-on training that is relevant to each project team member.

Education and Experience Requirements:


  • Proven experience in successful client relationship management.
  • Experience with emerging trends for content creation (e.g. gamification, xAPI)
  • Extensive experience with Adobe creative cloud, especially Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
  • Undergraduate degree required in fields such as education, instructional design business or related field. Masters preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in virtual learning design. Must include experience using learning management systems or similar tools to create online learning environments.
  • Extensive experience with authoring tools, such as Evolve, Articulate 360, or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Advanced multimedia development in audio, video, and/or animation
  • Functional knowledge of HTML
  • Previous project management experience required. Must be able to manage large and complex project plans and budgets.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in virtual learning design. Must include experience using learning management systems or similar tools to create online learning environments.
