Digital Image Technician – Photo Studio

Impact On Business

Assist the lead photographer and Photo Studio team in providing Digital Image Tech assistance for capture, process, output, and archive images. Act as a photo assistant on set as needed during location shoots as well as in-studio productions.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES [Essential Functions]:

• Build and paint studio sets.
• Assist in transporting gear to/from shoot locations and assisting the photographer with whatever is necessary.
• Assist photo studio team in pre/post capture production, such as color corrections, re-touching, and output towards final image creation utilizing Capture One Pro, Adobe Photoshop.
• Photo assistant when needed during studio and location shoots.
• Facilitate photo studio team with technical support on camera, lighting, computer hardware maintenance and software updates as applicable to sustaining workflow processes.
• Maintain photo studio image archives and transferring of assets to digital asset management software Bynder.
• Storing and cleaning photography and video equipment.
• Cleaning and organizing studio
• Preform other duties as assigned.

Digital Assets Assist

• Apply color corrections and adjustments as needed to meet image quality standards
• Organize all files on server
• Upload images to digital asset management software Bynder
• Complete any internal missing image requests
• Organize all files on external Hard drive
• Create preliminary folder structure during pre-production
• Daily set up and maintenance of computers and related programs

Digital Photo Assist

• On location, must be able to hold lighting equipment in place for prolonged time
• Carry and set up equipment and large props and ensure the shoot runs smoothly.
• Basic understanding of different gear types in photography and video in order to efficiently assist photographer.
• Assist in basic studio setup including lighting and setting up daily sessions both in studio and on location
• Coordinating all daily activities with lead photographer.
• Responsible for uploading, organizing and securely backing up daily images both in studio and on location.

Qualifications And Attributes

• Basic Understanding of Profoto and Speedotron lighting system.
• Must have full body rotation and mobility (i.e., bending, stooping, twisting and reaching).
• Minimum 2 years work experience in photo studio environment
• Must have adequate vision, speech, hearing and physical ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
• Basic Understanding of Image File types and uses
• Ability to travel
• 2 year BA or BS is a plus.
• Use a computer up to 100% of the day.
• Ability to stay on feet for long periods of time, up to 100% of day.
• Flexibility in work schedule
• Video experience is a plus.
• Able to be outside in Florida weather 12 months out of the year.
• Fluent in English.
• Basic Understanding of Canon DSLR Systems
• Valid drivers license
• Proficient understanding of Capture One Imaging Software, Adobe Photoshop, and Mac OS

Interaction

• Reports to Lead Photographer.
• Extensive interaction with the production manager, photo studio team, advertising & creative team, e-commerce, pre-media and freelance staff.
