- Expanding and supporting our membership and audience through digital organizing,
- A great project manager who can handle many responsibilities and programs. You will be responsible for balancing rapid response moments and our capacity building work, while also ensuring that we meet ongoing key programmatic metrics.
- A great people manager who is ready to train and support your team, and the next generation of activists, digital organizers, volunteers, and UWD members. You are comfortable coaching and training your staff, many of whom are in the early stages of their professional journey. You understand and deeply believe in intersectional organizing and orient your strategy to an intersectional, racial justice approach.
- Lead strategy development across all aspects of digital program, including fundraising, membership growth, digital organizing, rapid response, video, web, and social media engagement.
- Oversee digital organizing and distributive programs, which includes planning and implementing membership strategies, training, field program support, and email and mobile programs to support organizing goals.
- Lead and manage partnerships, playing a leadership role in coalition spaces to lead and co-develop digital strategy.
- Develop a content strategy based on UWD’s narrative strategies, ensuring high-quality, engaging content across platforms, including the organization's website, social media, and email newsletters.
- Oversee digital process and execution, including writing, editing, design, video production, segmentation, web development, reporting, and more as needed
- Oversee expansion of email and mobile grassroots fundraising programs, developing campaigns and programs to meet fundraising goals, ensuring audiences are well engaged and receive strong stewardship.
- Develop strategy, and proposals for UWD digital programs, including national and local campaigns, email, mobile, content, rapid response, and social media campaigns.
- Support digital analytics program by building out tracking, testing, and analysis throughout our program to support membership and acquisition strategies.
- Develop and execute digital advocacy campaigns that leverage social media, email marketing, and other digital channels to mobilize supporters and drive action.
- Develop and present regular reports to the organization's executive leadership team, offering insights and recommendations based on data and analytics.
- Ensure digital team members participate in annual professional development and in the performance review process, including quarterly 2x2 sessions and annual review sessions.
- Coordinate with advocacy, political, communications, campaigns, data & technology, and field departments on shared goals and strategies.
- Develop an annual digital plan, goals and digital budget in accordance with the biannual organizational priorities including departmental goals and KPIs.
- Ensure adoption and collaboration, knowledge sharing, and implementation of digital best practices among partners and colleagues to help establish a robust digital ecosystem.
- Manage and develop a team of a deputy director and 3 digital managers, and indirectly supervise 9 other digital professionals. This includes setting goals, providing feedback and coaching, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Drive digital innovation and serve as a change agent throughout the organization.
- Strengthen the culture: Ensure a safe, welcoming, and inspiring organizational culture for staff to excel in. Role model and uphold UWD’s values of creating an inclusive and equitable working environment.
- Engage as a senior leader: Participate and engage in Senior Team Leadership to ensure organizational goals and staff needs are met; represent the Digital Department’s perspective during regular senior leadership team meetings; participate in strategic and long-term planning processes for the organization.
- Strategic alignment: Build consensus within the digital membership to ensure UWD’s Digital strategy is aligned with the organizational vision and membership priorities.
- Support fundraising: Collaborate with the Executive Director and Development team in fundraising strategy for campaign priorities and budgets.
- Demonstrate embodied leadership: Prioritize taking care of your physical and emotional health as a key component of thriving in your role. Practice self-care behaviors in ways that work best for you and proactively encourage your staff to prioritize self-care as well. Project trust & confidence in your abilities and skills and recognize the achievements and abilities of others.
- Build future leaders: Train and mentor youth in Digital Organizing in order to build a pipeline of young leaders of color in the immigrant rights movement.
- Excellent communication skills, able to clearly articulate strategic direction to members, internal stakeholders, and external partners. This role requires open and honest communication, active listening skills and the ability to facilitate complicated discussions.
- Demonstrated success in developing, expanding, and maintaining email and SMS lists, with a strong focus on growth and acquisition. Expertise in data management, hygiene, and integration is crucial.
- Knowledge and understanding of immigrants rights’ policy and organizing landscape, preferably with lived experience as an undocumented person, immigrant, or immigrant family. Passionate about immigrants’ rights and has a strong intersectional social justice analysis on race, class and gender.
- Demonstrated success working in an integrated cross-functional team environment, providing effective creative direction and strategic feedback to improve campaign performance
- Experienced trainer with background in curriculum development, upfront training, and material creation is a plus
- Proven experience in working in a fast paced, dynamic environment with excellent task/project management skills. The ability to adapt to last-minute changes in the work environment and maintain a positive attitude is critical.
- Proficient at distilling data from vision to strategies to plans and execution. This role requires a detail-oriented person able to catch mistakes, errors, or changes before they escalate.
- Experience in developing departament plans and budgets, demonstrating strong strategic thinking and prioritization skills.
- 5+ years experience of relevant digital work experience, with a demonstrated ability to stay updated on the latest digital trends and platforms, and an ability to use this knowledge to drive the department's digital strategy.
- Proven expertise conceptualizing and implementing digital campaigns from start to finish, including petitions, engaging with activists on the ground, social media, and partner engagement, with leading coalition work being a plus
- Excellent writer, able to create compelling calls to action, and write from multiple perspectives. Experience in providing clear, constructive feedback, and developing messaging is essential.
- 5+ years of management experience, demonstrating skills in individual coaching, providing feedback, and developing team skills. Proven ability to balance management responsibilities with a hands-on approach to project execution.
- A keen interest in pop culture, with a strong sense of where our community is showing up in the media, art, and pop culture landscape.
