Devops Engineer - Hybrid

Job Summary
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer on behalf of our Pharmaceutical client. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for cloud architecture, operations, and deployments primarily in AWS. Strong automation and cloud skills required. The cloud architecture team manages all aspects of cloud computing including front-end platforms, servers, storage, delivery, networks, and security. The cloud automation engineer is responsible for leading cloud adoption within the organization by designing and implementing solutions with a cloud first focus. The cloud automation engineer will work in cross functional teams across the organization to transform technical requirements into architectural designs used to achieve the desired products. The automation engineer will ensure deployments are automated, repeatable, and secure.
Primary Responsibilities

• Work with DevOps engineers and application support teams ensure the right technologies are implemented.
• Working with IT to ensure security and privacy in the cloud, as well as developing protocols around incident responses to ensure high availability of service.
• Influence and inspire a new culture within the organization around the adoption and consumption of cloud services.
• Drive automation efforts within IT to enable repeatable processes, self-service, and self-healing systems.
• Implement projects, services and procedures and ensure a smooth transition to operations teams responsible for day-to-day management.
• Oversee the organizations cloud computing strategy through deployment, management, and support for cloud applications.
• On board new cloud services automating the deployment and security to provide consistent reusable services that can be leveraged across functional towers.
• Manage automation processes such as Docker file creation and deployment, Kubernetes deployment and management, automating on demand processes through Lambda and System Manager, deploying with Terraform, Cloudformation and Ansible.
• Working in or leading cross-functional teams combining technical expertise with interpersonal skills.
• Establish best practices that can be adopted across the organization.
• Overseeing the selection of cloud providers and vetting third-party services, ensuring venders meet organizational standards established by the architectural team.
• Routinely researching, analyzing, testing, and retesting cloud architecture and cloud-native apps to identify and troubleshoot problems.
• Bridge the gap between complex business problems and their solutions in the cloud.

Education And Experience

• Knowledge of global computer system regulatory requirements as they relate to systems support.
• Minimum five years’ experience working with AWS.
• Minimum five years’ experience working in public cloud.
• Extensive project experience migrating from legacy systems and deploying complex cloud-based solutions.
• Knowledge of ITIL methodology.
• Project experience architecting, implementing, and optimizing core infrastructure, networking, and cloud-based services.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience reviewing and implementing DevOps and Agile standards and practices.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/information Systems.
• Experience with Microservices and serverless architectures.
• Working knowledge of Python, Terraform, Cloudformation, PowerShell, SQL or other common programing or scripting languages.
