Job Description
e you ready to embark on a rewarding journey that combines your passion for higher education and philanthropy? Join our dynamic and collaborative Individual Giving Team at the heart of the Alumni Relations and Development Office.
You'll be partnering with various staff members within the Individual Giving Team to support senior gift officers, including the esteemed Senior Associate Dean for Development. Operating in a fast-paced, vibrant environment, you'll provide invaluable administrative support and strategic assistance to the team's initiatives, including the exciting Year Two of the On the Road program and a cutting-edge staffing experiment focused on Development Director support and strategy.
You'll be at the center of multiple projects, including coordinating calendars, arranging travel, drafting high-level correspondence, generating reports, maintaining databases, and facilitating various initiatives related to the Road, research centers, and resource development. Your efforts will be instrumental in strengthening alumni relationships, fostering donor engagement, and ensuring the successful execution of fundraising strategies for our esteemed Centers.
What You'll Be Doing
Collaborating with our Executive Coordinator and Group Lead, you'll schedule meetings, coordinate appointments, and prepare essential materials for pre- and post-meetings.
Providing critical support for the On the Road program, involving outreach to donors for visits, coordinating travel needs for Dean, faculty, and ARRD staff, and ensuring seamless event execution.
Assisting the Director of Development for Center Support and Strategy in fostering streamlined communication and processes across all Centers, updating Advisory Board memberships, and overseeing Center Advisory Board meetings and events.
Managing data updates in the development database, responding to inquiries, and providing general office support.
Assisting in compiling materials for frontline officers, preparing high-level strategy briefings, and crafting correspondence for Dean, faculty, and senior administrators.
Playing a pivotal role in implementing fundraising strategies, engaging donors and board members, and contributing centers' fundraising success.
Collaborating with senior University leaders and high-capacity donors while maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion.
Qualifications And Skills
You bring at least 3 years of related administrative support experience.
Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple assignments efficiently.
Strong commitment to client service, maintaining confidentiality, and exercising sound professional judgment.
A genuine interest in higher education and a working knowledge of national and global issues.
Enthusiasm, collaboration, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Experience in development, academia, business, government, or non-profit environments is advantageous.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to organize data and produce presentations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex research reports and create impactful briefings.
Flexibility in managing work and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment with competing demands.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with senior leaders and high-capacity donors.
Proactive, resourceful, and quick-thinking with the ability to anticipate work and respond swiftly to challenges.
