KEY ROLE
The Development Coordinator is responsible for working with a team of individuals to organize fundraising events, coordinate volunteers and donors, gain sponsors and help GCAPP raise funds. This position performs administrative duties related to database management, gift acknowledgement, volunteerism, fundraising, grant research and tracking, marketing and public relations. This position provides critical support to the Director of Development for planning and executing events, tracking donations and expenses, and coordinating volunteers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Database Management
- Sustains successful partnerships via thorough, detailed records.
- Maintains and provides reports utilizing database tools.
- Maintains the constituent management system ensuring that goal setting, stewardship and reporting requirements are met.
- Develops and manages various databases (including but not limited to Raiser’s Edge and Salesforce)
- Provides active leadership in developing computerized systems and records that provide proper documentation and tracking of operations.
- Performs comprehensive analysis and manipulation related to all aspects of fundraising. Uses statistics to evaluate current programs and make recommendations for changes.
- Tracks pledges, gifts, as well as in-kind donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Fundraising
- Execute cultivation and stewardship events for current and prospective donors.
- Creates and administers a program and activities to solicit gifts, including personal solicitations, online giving, and direct mail programs.
- Assists the Director of Development to conceptualize, create, and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies. The plan will include objectives, tactics, timelines and evaluation/measurement tools to achieve goals related to identifying, cultivating, and soliciting key constituents.
- Develops fundraising proposals, reports and briefings for solicitation opportunities.
- Support the continuous improvement of all fundraising goals to achieve best practices and optimal output.
- Conducts prospect research and creates profiles.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Oversees the acknowledgement and recognition of all gifts, including annual reports to donors.
- Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in field.
- Performs all other duties as assigned in the fulfillment of the mission, core values and strategic direction of GCAPP.
- Tracks all reporting deadlines and ensures reports submitted on time.
- Compiles and reports on metrics to assess performance of fundraising goals.
- Assures donor confidentiality and conducts all communications with donors in a professional manner.
- Supports the Director of Development in tracking departmental progress toward the organization’s fundraising plan.
- Responsible for writing and evaluating the annual fund program and reporting of progress to senior leadership team and board of directors.
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and utilizes a high degree of discretion.
- Ensures compliance with fundraising standard operating policies and procedures.
