Desktop Support Engineer – Boston, MA


Daley And Associates “DAA” is currently seeking a Desktop Support Engineer for a client that is prominent within the financial services space in the Boston Area. This individual will be providing efficient technical support to a team of Investment and other professionals, who are using proprietary and other client-server applications. The Desktop Support Engineer will be required to work on a hybrid model in Boston 3 days a week (Monday-Wednesday).


Responsibilities:
  • Identify and resolve hardware and workstation configuration issues, diverting matters to other support areas within the organization as necessary, and escalating to management where critical, including but not limited to:
  • Onboarding and training of new employees in our clients technology landscape
  • Work with parent company colleagues and vendors to help resolve technical issues
  • Set up/remove user accounts on certain systems and/or applications, e.g., Box.com
  • Effectively troubleshoot across the Microsoft O365 suite, and other applications and platforms. Specific experience with the following is a plus:
  • Windows 10; Microsoft Office 365; Okta (or other Single Sign On “SSO”); MS Endpoint Manager (Intune, or other mobile device management platform “MDM”); Active Directory; VPN (e.g., Global Protect, Cisco AnyConnect); Audio/Video (A/V) (e.g., Crestron, Polycom); Bloomberg (installation, add-ins, troubleshooting)
  • Exercise good judgment when dealing with sensitive employee security information, as well as company documentation, in keeping with corporate data security and compliance requirements
  • Track and update IT specific inventory, links to drives, printers, other troubleshooting short cuts
  • Assisting with various special projects as needed, and other miscellaneous technology support duties
  • Answering pings, calls, or responding to help-desk support ticket requests in a timely manner
  • Troubleshoot, isolate, and research problems, recommending solutions
  • Set up and configuration of new computers, including the installation of application software
  • Creating documentation on specific technology support references, how-to guides, and trainings


Qualifications:


The successful candidate will ideally possess:


  • Ability to problem solve and think creatively
  • A Bachelor’s degree, with a major in technology studies preferred, and strong GPA
  • Good time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • A self-starter quality with a strong sense of urgency on time-sensitive responsibilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to work collaboratively with strong customer service
  • Strong work ethic, dependability, and a positive attitude
  • The ability to take initiative, be proactive and anticipate needs; a “no task is too big/small” mentality
