Job Description

The Designer is responsible for designing and creating compelling multimedia and immersive experiences for ABS learning solutions. Utilize all design, project management, and development aspects, specializing in media technology learning approaches.
What You Will Do:
  • Develop layout design and concept.
  • Evaluate and modify multimedia assets to achieve desired objectives and results.
  • Design, create, modify, and deliver multimedia and web-based graphics, video, and audio elements.
  • Collaborate with a team of creative professionals to deliver assigned projects within the designated timeframe at a high level of quality.
  • Work collaboratively with the learning development team to design and develop engaging learning solutions and communications within the project scope, using instructional design principles, such as adult learning theory, instructional system designs, and the 6Ds.
  • Facilitate and provide guidance for media productions in other ABS departments (e.g., Marketing, Technology, etc.).
  • Ensure multimedia assets are developed on time and to standards.
  • Recommend visual and audio format, approach, content, level, and medium to effectively achieve desired results.
  • Operate video and audio recording equipment, determine the composition, recommend the overall design of media productions, and edit special effects.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
  • Stay current on new technologies, initiatives, and trends within the scope of expertise to provide ideas, guidance, and recommendations.
  • Develop and/or incorporate 2D or 3D animation, as appropriate.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
  • Three years of experience in 3D modeling and animation (e.g., 3D Max, Rhino, Inventor, Blender, Video CoPilot). Five years’ experience in audio and video production and editing (e.g., Pro Tools, Audition, Premier Pro, Audacity).
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Art, Animation, Instructional Technology Media, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five years of hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Animate).
  • Minimum of 3 years of adult learning design and development. Marine engineering or oil and gas
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and deadlines. Demonstrates flexibility and critical thinking skills when managing scope, implementation, timelines, and project priority changes.
  • Possesses a thorough understanding of building e-Learning courseware, including creative concepts, scripts, and storyboards. Demonstrated use of Articulate Storyline.
  • Action-orientated. Should be able to follow up on feedback to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in 3D modeling, rendering, and animation (e.g., 3D Max, Rhino, Inventor, Blender, Video CoPilot).
  • Adult learning theory, project production processes, media technology learning design in formal and informal learning environments, and the relationship between design and learning evaluation/assessment.
  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, or In-Line scripting is a plus.
  • Ability to problem solve and work in a team environment.
  • Instructional design and project management for media technology solutions.
  • Excellent client service skills with an upbeat attitude.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports directly to the Lead, Instructional Technology, and has no direct reports.
Working Conditions:
The work environment will primarily be an air-conditioned office setting requiring the employee to sit for prolonged periods while concentrating on a computer screen. The team member may occasionally assist with various tasks, including filing and talking, and may have to lift between 5 – 15 pounds.
