The Deputy Director will work closely with the Executive Director and Clinical Director to chart WAF’s future growth and strategic response to an ever-increasing demand for the organization’s services. The Deputy Director will be responsible for overseeing the operations of our programs and assisting with the development and execution of key priorities, high-quality client services, written policies and procedures, administration, and human resources.
Management, and Client Relations/Management
- Build and maintain strong client and staff relationships; exceptional relationship-builder.
- Represent WAF in meetings, events, and other public venues.
- Share in knowledge dissemination, reporting, and communications.
- Structure and lead teams to deliver outstanding services and support to our clients and the youth that we serve.
Program Building
- Mentoring, coaching; visible, approachable sounding board/resource
- Have knowledge and awareness of all Grant requirements and other funder compliance expectations
- Partner with the Executive Director, Clinical Director Operations Manager and Human Resources Manager is essential
- Identify best practices and improve internal systems with an eye toward future needs and budget realities.
- Internal leadership activities (human resources, administration, and organizational planning).
- Support with the oversight, monitoring, and evaluation of outcomes for Grants requirements
- Manage all segments of information technology, human resources (recruiting, reviews, staff deployment/workload balancing, career progression) with related internal communications and budgeting/finance duties.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with staff members
- Deep commitment to social justice and centering marginalized voices. Professional experience advancing LGBTQ+ causes is considered a major plus.
- A significant supervisory record, with experience developing team members and fostering a culture that centers racial and LGBTQ+ justice.
- Consensus-oriented with emotional intelligence, compassion, and active listening skills.
- A bachelor’s degree is required, a master degree preferred in a related field, such as social work, mental health, business administration, management, or public administration.
- 3 years of experience required in a leadership or management role, preferably in the same or similar industry
