PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Under the direction of the Office Manager and the Clinical Leadership of Associate Director Dental Residency Program, supports the residents/dentists with the clinical care of patients and supports overall office functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Proactively participates in 4 handed dentistry and anticipates the needs of the residents/attending dentists while rotating through various operatories.
• Independently prepares operatories with the supplies/instruments appropriate to the specialty by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
• Assists with the registration/clerical support of the clinic as directed including scheduling of appointments and surgeries.
• Meets all standards of the Patient Satisfaction Initiative Criteria in order to make Abington – Jefferson Health (AJH) the hospital of choice for Patients and Employees.
• Maintains dental department equipment and work areas in compliance policies and procedures relative to infection control and safety issues, including the tracking and reprocessing of all reusable dental instruments/equipment and the proper disposal of all other materials as directed.
• Participates in tracking clinical supplies to maintain inventory and to facilitate smooth operation of the office.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
