How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)


Objective:


Research, plan, and develop land products for Delta Vacations’ brands. Negotiate contracts and promotions with external partners ensuring market competitiveness and to optimize land contribution and value.


Essential Functions:


  • Collaborate with the Partnership Marketing team and hotel and destination partners to secure partnership marketing funds.
  • Participate in the overall development of destination market strategies.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Management and Distribution team in the development and execution of retail pricing and inventory management strategies, and promotional strategies, in order to generate optimal land contribution and value.
  • Research, plan, develop, negotiates driven rates/terms, and maintain land products to support DLV Vacations’ product offerings and optimize land contribution.
  • Develop and sustain strong destination relationships/contacts as needed with local government officials, tourist boards / CVB’s, DMC’s, local and corporate hotel partners, and local activity providers.
  • Regularly supervise land programs and industry trends, and analyze competitors’ programs. Implement appropriate actions to ensure program competitiveness.
  • Maintain product offerings/inventory levels to complement air capacity and market demand.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned, which may include cross-utilization within the department or with other departments.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of assigned destinations and land products.
  • Compile and provide significant performance reporting and trend analysis to a variety of partners in order to effectively negotiate favorable rates and inventory allocations.


High Accountability Functions:


  • Lead meetings and events between applicable DLV’s partners and vendors.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate destination relationships/contacts as needed with local government officials, tourist boards / CVB’s, DMC’s, local and corporate hotel vendors, and local activity providers.
  • Participate in the overall development of regional key destination market strategies.
  • Apply analytical skills to capture and analyze strategic data, clearly summarize thoughts and optimally communicate recommendations to leadership.
  • Research, strategize and source land products in high-volume destinations for DLV Vacations’ brands. Expand corporate partner chain relationships and implement strategies that enhance destination profitability. Negotiate contracts and promotions with external vendors ensuring market competitiveness while implementing retail pricing and inventory management strategies that generate optimal land contribution.
  • Use relationship building skills to nurture effective internal relationships with all areas of the organization.
  • Lead DLV’s destination product plan(s) for high volume destinations.
  • Collaborate with Hotel Pricing Implementation Analysts and Inventory Specialists to optimize land contribution through retail pricing and inventory management strategies.
  • Be responsible for the retail pricing strategies for corporate chain partners that cross between multiple destinations and Product Managers.
  • Handle assigned land products to support DLV’s product offerings which optimize land contribution.
  • Facilitate DLV’s participation in industry trade events and meetings, facilitate registration and scheduling with corporate chain vendors, coordinate internal preparation and post-trip follow-up efforts.
  • Lead the development of secondary destination market strategies.
  • Cultivate and maintain a thorough knowledge of all DLV destinations and land products.
  • Research and develop new destinations, analyze and evaluate new and existing trends.
  • Act as a key resource/SME for participation in DLV cross functional teams.


Other Duties:


  • Supervise contract compliance against DLV’s and Delta legal standards and guidelines.
  • As applicable, coordinate and participate in meetings and events between DLV’s management and suppliers.
  • Follow all corporate and departmental policies/procedures and applicable governmental regulations.
  • Work with other departments to coordinate product content load processes to ensure accurate and optimal land product presentation in all distribution channels.
  • Monitor in-destination customer experience to ensure partners meet customer service expectations.
  • Make recommendations and collaborate as appropriate to implement projects, which enhance sales, Partnership Marketing, operational efficiency, marketing and company productivity.
