The Weather Company, an IBM Business is seeking a certified Scrum Master to join the Engineering Operations and Strategy team. This role will report directly to the Global Head of the Department.
In this role, you will have the responsibility of being the single, lead Scrum Master for the organization’s top priority initiatives. You will be responsible for leading teams to deliver on complex technical projects that touch multiple parts of the organization. You will set and establish the cadences, ceremonies, and discipline to help our agile teams work more effectively.
The ideal candidate will have proven Scrum Master experience managing multiple projects, ideally technical projects that were cross-platform. The selected candidate will need to have excellent management, organizational, communication, and relationship building skills.
The candidate must be extremely comfortable interacting with various levels of personnel, including Executives.
Your Role and Responsibilities
In this new, exciting, fast- paced role, you will oversee and guide scrum teams for extremely high profile, top priority, fast moving projects, which the ideal candidate should find motivating and challenging. You should have a proven record of on-time deliverable dates, even with tight deadlines. To be most successful in this role, you will excel at the following responsibilities:
- Use JIRA as a main tracking tool with the teams
- Track and manage velocity from the teams, offering guidance on ways to make improvements
- Use agile methodologies, principles, and practices to plan, manage and deliver solutions
- Establish and promote the discipline around agile methodologies to the team
- Help the team understand the goals and scope of work set by the Product Owner
- Use collaborative and transparent processes
- Prepare, present, and provide reports, including velocity and status reports to key stakeholders
- Provide the necessary training, mentoring and support to the Agile teams to follow agile best practices
- Setting and strictly adhering to the cadence and ceremonies established
- Work diligently to eliminate blockers for the teams
- Escalate appropriately and quickly as issues are identified
- Develop key relationships within the business to help processes and decisions run smoothly
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- CSM Certification, SAFe prefered or PSM Certification
- Excellent people and interpersonal skills
- 3+ years of experience as Scrum Master
- SME in Agile best practices
- Comfortable interacting with all levels of personnel within the organization
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Leadership experience
- Experience using JIRA or similar tracking tool
- 3+ years leading product or software development products
- Previous Project Management experience

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
