Job Description
Coker University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Dean of the Wiggins School of Education beginning August 2023. This is a full-time, 12-month faculty position with a four-course teaching load over the academic year. This position reports to the Provost and serves on the Academic Council of the University. The University is seeking an individual who is dedicated to developing meaningful, collegial working relationships with students, faculty, and staff across campus; eager to contribute his/her interests and ideas for new and innovative courses and programs; and committed to actively contributing to Coker's mission and strategic plan. Required qualifications include: an earned doctorate in a discipline represented in the School of Education, at least three years (preferred) experience in higher education with demonstrated examples of leadership, at least eight years (preferred) K-12 teaching experience with demonstrated examples of leadership, broad knowledge of the disciplines in the field of education and ability to foster collaboration across certification areas, experience working with competing priorities and multiple time-sensitive projects, ability to make effective decisions and take independent action, and strong listening, speaking, and writing skills to communicate with a variety of constituencies inside and outside the University.
