Job Description
CFD Research in looking for someone that will join a multidisciplinary team focused on developing machine learning (ML)/artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to analyze, reduce, and visualize complex simulation data and directly support the customer's missile defense mission. The developed cutting-edge techniques and processes will be used to provide concise, actionable information to missile defense customers using fewer computing resources and at faster rates than current techniques. The engineer in this role will work with senior data scientists to perform data analysis, develop algorithms, and train machine learning (ML)/deep learning (DL) models to process and visualize tremendous amounts of simulation data for missile defense applications. Candidate will investigate and apply the latest ML/DL techniques for dimensionality reduction, optimization of workflows, and advanced visualization. Candidate will participate in technical interchange meetings, generate reports and brief results to team members and customers. Basic Qualifications:
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Pandas and SQL
  • Experience with OSC/OPTISIG
  • Bachelor's in Engineering, Computer Science, Math/Statistics, Physics, or related STEM Discipline (Master's Degree is a plus)
  • Ability to work effectively in team environments and independently Preferred:
  • Basic familiarity with machine learning methods for classification, regression, clustering, dimensionality reduction, generative modeling, etc.
  • Experience using visualization tools such as Matplotlib or Plotly
  • Experience using machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or Scikit-Learn Location: This role is based in the Huntsville, AL area, and is 100% onsite.
