Job Overview:
We are seeking a data scientist intern who is passionate about esports and has a strong analytical mindset. The ideal candidate will have experience in data analysis, data mining, and statistical modeling. They should be able to identify patterns and trends in complex data sets and have the ability to develop predictive models using advanced statistical methods.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in discussions with the team to help them understand the insights derived from the data.
- Collaborate with the team to develop a comprehensive understanding of the competitive gaming landscape and develop strategies for success.
- Create visualizations and reports to communicate insights and findings to the team.
- Analyze large and complex data sets and identify trends and patterns.
- Develop predictive models using statistical methods to support the organization’s decision-making process across multiple departments (gaming, marketing, partnerships).
Requirements:
- Experience working with databases and data management systems, such as Postgres.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficient in Python and SQL.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools or packages such as Tableau, Power BI, or Plotly.
- Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in data science, applied statistics, computer science, or a related field. Graduates from May 2022 and later will also be considered.
- Experience working with statistical modeling techniques and machine learning algorithms.
- Passionate about esports and a desire to learn more about competitive gaming.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies and project management tools, such as JIRA or Trello.
- Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices.
- Experience working with APIs or web scraping tools to collect data from external sources.
- Experience in software development using software engineering best practices (git).
- Familiarity with NLP
- Experience working with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
