A. SCOPE OF WORK: The Data Integration Specialist is a member of the BSD Data Team, and serves a key role in supporting staff using technology systems in their roles. This position provides training and support for administrators, teaching staff and administrative assistants across the district in order to help with consistency of practices, accuracy, and efficiency in working with student information. The Data Integration Specialist also serves an important role in maintaining accurate data and state reporting work.

Professional Development

Facilitate trainings in the Student Information System (Powerschool SIS) and support with other software (such as Learning Management Systems) for staff.

Establish and maintain procedures for new staff onboarding in collaboration with the Technology Integration Team and IT team.

Grading and Assessment Systems

Training and Documentation: Collaborate with the Technology Integration team to create and review procedures, systems, and training.

Assist in ensuring high quality data processes in areas including report cards, grading and grade storage procedures, and grading systems.

Support district assessment teams with implementation and school support of state and federal assessments, including VTCAP, MSAA, and NAEP.

School Support

Audit school procedures and processes. Recommend and collaborate around improvements to processes and procedures.

Collect and provide information around SIS processes and updates.

Data Integrity Support

Support the data team in maintaining processes that ensure data integrity.

Assist with data reporting internally and externally (state, federal).

Perform other duties, as assigned. Participate productively in team meetings, special projects, and professional committees.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members.

Comply with Board and administrative policies, regulations, and procedures.

Use discretion in discussing school affairs, recognizing the value of positive school-community relations.

Maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Prepare/Complete appropriate reports/paperwork.

Attendance in accordance with established days/hours of work.

Perform other tasks and duties as appropriate and/or assigned.

C. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Minimum Required: Bachelor’s Degree or 5+ years of relevant work experience

Minimum Required: Must have at least two years of training and/or experience with computer operations.

Must be familiar with the Windows computer environment.

Proficiency with spreadsheets (e.g. MS Excel, Google Sheets) required.

Experience with data management software, OR demonstrated technical aptitude.

5. Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a school district environment using Powerschool Student Information System and completing state reporting is preferred.

Experience with SQL or another computer programming language is a bonus.
