Position: Data Engineer
Scope of position: The Data Engineer is responsible for building data and business intelligence applications and administers data governance tools. Provide technical support for data governance program projects from initial scoping through implementation.
Essential Job Functions

• Develops and delivers presentations for department and senior leadership.
• Uses data profiling and data quality tools to expose and determine causes of data quality issues and write data quality rules.
• Collaborates with data owners and data stewards to fix data issues and develop a corrective action plan to prevent future data issues.
• Collaborates with data stewards, business architects, data architects, data modelers, application architects, subject matter experts, data owners and IT partners to execute data governance initiatives.
• Assists with writing and review of data governance policies, procedures and standards.
• Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
• Participates in metadata management activities, including building out the business glossary and data dictionary.
• Uses data tools, techniques, and manipulation to address basic and complex business problems. Perform data integration and ETL with relational, no-SQL data sources and flat files.

You Have

• Experience with open-source big data technologies like Apache Nifi, Kafka, Spark in a healthcare environment is highly preferred
• Bachelor's in science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, Health Informatics, Healthcare Analytics or related field required
• SQL and SQL server technology is required
• 1- 2 years of experience in Data governance-related disciplines: data architecture; data modeling; data pipeline development, metadata management; data quality analysis; data quality process creation; data profiling and data lineage required
• Masters preferred

• Business Intelligence: MS Power BI, Qlik Sense, Tableau- Proficiency: Intermediate
• Ability to build ETL and ELT processes-Proficiency: Intermediate
• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)-Proficiency: Intermediate
• Analytical and Problem Solving-Proficiency: Intermediate
