Agility Partners is working with a fortune 50 grocer in the Cincinnati area in search of a Data Engineer to join their dynamic merchandising Insights team. This exciting opportunity allows you to play a crucial role in enabling informed decision-making while ensuring consistency in analytics and insights across the organization. Leverage your expertise in data engineering, analytics, and retail merchandising to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the merchandising function.

• Gather requirements from subject matter experts to define source-to-target data mapping and identify transformation needs.
• Collaborate within a team to work on data engineering, data science, and data analytics tasks, contributing to the overall success of the projects.
• Assess the current landscape and design the future architecture to enable data-driven decision-making.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to refine user stories, update sprint backlogs, and plan sprints for effective project execution.
• Architect, design, and develop data ingestion pipelines for the Merchandising platform while ensuring data validation, automation, and parallel runs.
• Provide ongoing support for the deployed applications in a production environment.

The Ideal Candidate

• Strong experience in data engineering, analytics, and data modeling, with a deep understanding of best practices and industry standards.
• Proficiency in Python, Spark, Databricks, Azure, and Power BI, with the ability to leverage these technologies to develop robust data solutions.
• Prior experience in retail merchandising analytics, demonstrating a solid understanding of the unique challenges and requirements within the retail industry.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and drive successful project outcomes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to assess complex landscapes, design efficient architectures, and implement effective data ingestion pipelines.
