Job Description

The CyberLOG Specialist SME 4 will support the cybersecurity initiatives, provide support, and execute cybersecurity services to assist in ensuring compliance with Federal, DoD, and DHA and subservices regulations and policies.

Summary
The CyberLOG Specialist SME 4 will support the cybersecurity initiatives, provide support, and execute cybersecurity services to assist in ensuring compliance with Federal, DoD, and DHA and subservices regulations and policies.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Includes the following (but is not limited to):
  • Adds relevant supplemental security controls and marks extraneous or impertinent controls as “Not Applicable.”
  • Initiates the tailoring process in eMASS to modify the control set to more closely account for conditions affecting the specific system.
  • Creates the Risk Assessment Report (RAR) and upload into eMASS along with all self-assessment results and artifacts documentation.
  • Identifies security controls to be monitored on an ongoing basis.
  • Reviews site/organization change control policies and documents the method of applying policies to specific controls.
  • Coordinates with the ISSM to confirm the completion of the Security Authorization Package prior to eMASS submission.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Develops the baseline set of impact values (low, moderate, or high) for the medical devices.
  • Provides support with remediation and mitigation efforts.
  • Coordinates with the IV&V Team to clarify information required for SAP.
  • Assists program with status reports, white papers, weekly activity report, and other ad hoc requirements as necessary.
  • Leads the execution of the self-assessment activities, complete the applicable checklists, assessing the NIST SP 800-53 Revision 4 controls, and documenting the results in eMASS.
  • Reviews and updates the Detailed Architecture Diagram, Detailed Hardware/Software Inventory, and other system artifacts to determine the DoD IT type (IT service, IT product, PIT, PIT system, or IS).
  • Identifies common controls, documents them in the Security Plan, and obtains supporting documentation that defines responsibilities associated with the inherited controls.
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
This position will not have supervisory/management authority.
Education And Experience
  • Technical Training in Cyber Security, Information Assurance, Network Design or Information Technology and
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years' of hands-on experience with supporting network operations centers, Cyber Security Service Providers or Cyber Red Teams or equivalents within the DoD or Federal government, to include three (3) of the following five (5) areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Data Analysis, Test & Evaluation, and Training.
  • IAT Level I / IAM Level I, II, III certification is required
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Advanced communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) enabling precise conveyance of information across all customer sections and proper enunciation of the English language.
  • Working knowledge of Combatant Command operations.
  • An active DoD Secret clearance which can be verified in DISS is required
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug screen and background investigation
  • Skilled with building extended cyber security analytics.
  • Skilled with Risk Management Framework.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Skilled with eMASS.
  • Must have strong interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking/problem solving skills.
  • Must be flexible, dependable and be able to multi-task with priorities.
  • Knowledge of DoD Networks and orders process.
  • Demonstrated skills with providing excellent customer service.
  • Knowledge of DHA mission and environment.
  • Strong knowledge of computer security principles and best practices.
  • Skilled in briefing Senior Leadership and General Officer / Flag Officer (GO/FO) leadership.
  • Proficient in developing briefing materials, administrative, and logistic support.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work is performed primarily in a climate-controlled office environment.
  • Cherokee Federal has suspended it’s COVID mandate.
