CWI (Certified Welding Inspector)

The Client

We have a fantastic opportunity at a local long-standing, reputable steelwork contractor. They are currently looking for a CWI ( Certified Welding Inspector). They are looking for strong experience in steelwork.

Job Duties:

• Conduct witness checkpoints and prepare reports for Fracture Critical materials.
• Maintain the calibration of QC measuring equipment.
• Conduct inspections and testing for ASME Code Work when required.
• Conduct inspections of materials and finished products, including receiving, in-process, and final inspections.
• Assist in maintaining logs for shop fabrication welders.
• Report and handle non-conforming products or activities according to company procedures.
• Follow procedures, codes, standards, and specifications during inspections.
• Monitor calibration stickers on welding machines and measuring equipment.

Qualifications/Experience:

• NDE Certification is a plus.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is required.
• Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel locally and occasionally out of state.
• 2-year technical degree with 2 years of steel fabrication inspection experience, or high school diploma/GED with 5 years of steel fabrication inspection experience. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of welding and steel fabrication processes.
