Job Summary
The Records and Registration Office promotes the academic mission of Anoka-Ramsey Community College (ARCC) by providing information to students, faculty, staff and the public. We are a dedicated team that upholds high ethical and professional values in all areas, maintaining accuracy, integrity, and privacy of student records - past, present, and future – by adhering to federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures.
The Customer Service Specialist position serves as the first point of contact for the Records and Registration Office through email, phone and in-person interactions. This position provides accurate Records and Registration information on such topics as enrollment verification, adding/dropping/withdrawing, and incoming and outgoing transcripts. This position also assists students with website navigation, finding and completing appropriate forms, and course registration issues. Providing positive customer service is an essential component to this position.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Customer Service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information regarding the Records and Registration policies and procedures to customers in person, on the phone, and through e-mail
- Word processing skills to prepare memos, letters and other materials that are grammatically correct, in proper format, and free of spelling errors using Microsoft Word or equivalent software
- Knowledge of database management software sufficient to retrieve data and review information
- Data Entry skills sufficient to accurately input data and maintain a high level of attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) year of customer service experience
- Knowledge of Records and Registration policies and procedures
- Demonstrated commitment and success working in a diverse and multi-cultural and multiracial community
- Experience using database management software such as Academic Records Student Affairs Application (ARSA), Integrated Statewide Records System (ISRS), Perceptive Content or other similar software
- Knowledge and ability to understand issues around data privacy and maintain a high level of confidentiality
Additional Requirements
In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
