Customer Service & Scheduling Manager

International Chemical Business

Columbus, OH



Overview

A leading Global Chemical Company is searching for a talented Customer Service Manager to join their team and be responsible for leading their customer facing department and scheduling of a unit with $300MM sales annually.


You will cover the whole business process from initial customer interest, all the way through to collection of payment. Due to this, you will have unique and wide exposure across the business, needing to interface across multiple levels and departments to ensure customers are dealt with effectively and demand/supply is effectively managed.


They are looking for someone with clear customer expertise, that has experience of scheduling/logistics as well.


This role includes direct and indirect reports.


Responsibilities

  • Timely reporting and coordinating with freighters.
  • Fulfill required on-call shifts.
  • Work to address over-due orders.
  • Ensure imports/exports are tracked and monitored, and all levels kept informed.
  • Work with tolling schedulers.
  • Key member of Sales and Operations Planning, working with other departments to optimize service and profitability.
  • Ensure carrier availability and pricing.
  • Coordinate with logistics department.
  • Frequently evaluate performance to requirements to ensure supply objectives are met.
  • Work with commerce to manage orders/supply.
  • Manage ERP system.
  • Work to manage production levels needed before outages/TARS etc.
  • Ensure correct chemical safety documentation is provided and forwarded to correct internal contacts.
  • Manage customer service team.
  • Ensure safety/environmental issues in transport are monitored and reported.
  • Provide clear quoting, delivery, and timing to customers.
  • Professional and appropriate service and communication with customers/clients.
  • Manage chemical inventory coordination.
  • Monitor orders, railcar, logistics, and shipment tracking.
  • Ensure correct hiring and development of team.
  • Manage scheduling team.
  • Monitor orders for any changes/additions.
  • Constant communication to ensure knowledge share.


Requirements

  • Experience of MS Suite and ERP system e.g. SAP.
  • Knowledge of export procedures would be a benefit.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships internal and external.
  • 10 years of experience and leadership in customer service and scheduling.
  • Degree qualified, preferably in Business/Commercial or Supply Chain/Logistics.
  • Strong interpersonal and commercial skills.
