We are working with our client Sea Bags in seeking a Customer Data Manager, to be based in their Portland, ME office. The Customer Data Manager will have a pulse on data, analytics and market trends and build out the customer lifecycle strategy across e-commerce and retail channels.


Requirements of the Customer Data Manager:

  • Self-motivated, process driven and detail oriented.
  • Experience with Database Marketing and/or email marketing using a CDP or CRM.
  • Be a team player and jump in and support any needs in the company when called upon.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within a cross-departmental team.
  • Expert proficiency with Excel and proficiency in Office 365 and Office suite of applications.
  • Proficiency with PowerBI (or similar BI platform)
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, MIS, or Business.
  • Must be willing to work onsite in the Portland, Maine office a minimum of 40 hours weekly.
  • Background in Data Analysis, Reporting, and Database Management.
  • Experience with crafting SQL queries, for the purposes of data modeling, and knowledge of schema design optimized for business intelligence and analytics.
  • Solid interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities of the Customer Data Manager:

  • Collaborate with Vice President of Marketing & Ecommerce on email and SMS to identify customer segmentation strategies, campaign response measurement, and reporting needs.
  • Maintain and develop report tracking of key monthly marketing metrics and KPIs– including buyer file counts, buyer migration, retention, and projections.
  • Source customer and sales data to produce actionable insights related to trends, customer insights, onsite behavior and site performance, and risk management using multiple technologies and platforms
  • Through optimization of tools in the Customer Data Platform, this role will assist in developing the Lifecycle Marketing strategy by building, maintaining and optimizing the customer journey across E-commerce and Retail channels with a strong focus on email and SMS segmentation.
  • Manage customer database and the regular data updates and integrations with all supporting enterprise platforms.
  • Participate in the optimization of our Customer Loyalty Program as an Omni-Channel strategy and provide consistent reporting and analysis to update strategies and drive sales.
