What We Seek...

We are looking for individuals who are motivated and hardworking to help us fabricate world-class projects for retail environments, events, and more. The type of projects in our shop ranges from custom cabinetry, to architectural millwork, to foam sculptures, to tradeshow booths, and more. The person in this position will be responsible for processing work safely and efficiently, while keeping with Britten's quality control standards. This is a key member of our team who will be flexible in terms of scope of work and will be able to work with a range of materials and tools, to help meet the needs of our customers.


Job Summary and Job Functions

  • Measuring parts to ensure accuracy and fit.
  • Match materials for color, grain, or texture.
  • Willingness and ability to follow all safety rules and regulations, all work must be done with thinking Safety First
  • Read and understand blueprints, drawings and/or written directions.
  • Glue, fit and clamp parts and sub-assemblies together to form complete unit using clamps or clamping machine.
  • Align with and believe in the company core values: We Say Yes, We Hustle, We Think Bigger, We Keep Promises, We Build People Up.
  • Assemble and prep units for finishing with precision and attention to detail.
  • Operate a variety of woodworking and foam sculpting machinery and tools to fabricate cabinetry, millwork, and foam sculptures.
  • Sand and scrapes surfaces and joints of articles to prepare for finishing.
  • Interest and ability to work long hours and weekends as needed.

Requirements:
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools including their design, repair and maintenance preferred.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Good hand eye coordination.
  • Proactive self-starter with a positive attitude.
  • Know how to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and written directions.
  • Assembly work, woodworking, carpentry, sculpting and/or finish experience preferred.

  • Great attention to detail.
  • Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods.
  • Outstanding work ethic and dependability.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operates machines, such as lathes, drill presses, power saws, and mills where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach; performs mechanical or skilled trade tasks of a non-repetitive nature, such as carpenter, technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc.
  • Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned
  • Atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
  • Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Feeling. Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
  • Subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
  • Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
