Job Summary: Under the direction of the Physical Plant Manager, the Custodian for handling the day-to-day cleaning of the front offices, bathrooms, common areas and the break room. They are responsible for the maintenance of consumable inventories as well as the requisition of products needed and for the periodic tasks associated with building maintenance including but not limited to waxing of hard surface flooring, shampooing the carpeted areas, washing exterior windows and periodic policing of the parking lot. The Maintenance Technician/Custodian f ollows safe work practices and conducts self in a professional manner with other employees. Duties and Responsibilities: Complete assigned daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks Maintain and order inventory of paper goods (Consumables) Strip and wax hard surface floors as needed Shampoo carpets as needed Clean interior/exterior windows as needed Assist in other areas as needed Perform all duties with company sustainability focus in mind E ducation and Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent Previous Janitorial/Custodial experience Forklift experience preferred Experience in a Production environment, preferred Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Competencies: Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools to complete repairs Ability to communicate (Read, speak, write, understand) in English The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand, both in person, via email, and over the phone Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs Ability for weekend work shifts & overtime as needed Ability to contribute to building a strong and positive team spirit as well as align with GSP values Physical demands: Standing: Standing for lengthy periods of time Lifting: Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (Includes upward pulling) of up to 50 lbs Carrying: Transporting an object, usually holding it in the hands or arms, or on the shoulder Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction Feeling: Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture, by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or to the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds by ear Depth Perception: Three-dimensional vision.
