POSITION SUMMARY: Performs routine cleaning of all common areas, maintains carpet and floor care, trash disposal, recycling, in accordance with federal, State, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. • Moves furniture into and out of resident apartments, homes, health care rooms, and offices.
• Attends monthly safety and training meetings.
• Promptly reports missing or defective equipment, items, and fixtures, to include light bulbs, hardware and appliances to Supervisor for proper action.
• Sets up meeting rooms with tables, chairs, and other furniture in support of regularly scheduled meetings, resident activities, and special events.

INTERNAL CONTROL: Within the scope of position duties, responsible for seeing that operations are effective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, and applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures are complied with. This position may have access to confidential information and must treat such with appropriate sensitivity. PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: Work is performed in a climate controlled setting with slight-to-extensive exposure to the elements in travel between work locations. Incumbent must be able to perform 7 to 8 hours of daily sustained physical activity consisting of walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, twisting, stretching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and maneuvering up to 300 pounds. Training will be provided regarding proper lifting and bending techniques and use of chemicals. Few environmental hazards are present, although the threat of communicable disease exists. Mild cleaning products, waxes, and soaps are used in the immediate area. Mild pesticides are used periodically to control bug infestation. WORK SCHEDULE: Core work hours are from either 7:00 am to 4:00 pm or 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday thru Friday, buy vary and may require working alternating weekends and holidays. • Performs routine tasks to include wet and damp mopping, buffing, window washing, vacuuming, carpet and floor care, general cleaning, recycling, and trash disposal in public areas and other assigned locations.
• East, incumbent will also perform laundry services to include loading, unloading, and delivering laundry to the East Health Care Center (The Mission), as required. Duties assigned to this position involve universal precautions. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Must display, tact, respect, courtesy, and patience with residents and maintain a professional demeanor and appearance in interactions with residents, family members, visitors, co-workers, supervisors and others. Must be able to speak, read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English. Be able to work independently or under limited supervision to complete tasks promptly, effectively, and efficiently within assigned schedule and according to established standards. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Required: At least one year of work experience in a similar position in a retirement community, health care center, residential complex, or hotel. Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent. EQUIPMENT AND COMPUTER OPERATIONS: General cleaning chemicals and equipment will be used in performing the essential functions of the job, including: vacuum cleaner, floor machine and polisher, wet/dry vacuum, ladder, and utility cart. Training will be provided to familiarize incumbent with all equipment and chemicals used in accordance with material safety directives to ensure safety and proper operation during use.
