Job Description
Qualifications


  • Hold an appropriate endorsement related to the WBL course to be taught;

Job Overview: The WBL coordinator is a school-based employee who is the primary point of contact for all work-based


learning functions at the school or district. This position plays two critical roles: 1) Serves as teacher of record for capstone


WBL courses offering workplace-based placements 2) Oversees work-based learning coordination in collaboration with other


instructors and administrators. Work-based learning (WBL) is a proactive approach to bridging the gap between high school


and high-demand, high-skill careers in Tennessee. Students build on classroom-based instruction to develop employability


skills that prepare them for success in postsecondary education and future careers. Through experiences like internships,


apprenticeships, and paid work experience, juniors and seniors (16 years or older) may earn high school credit for capstone


WBL experiences. WBL coordinators are educators who are trained and certified by the department to coordinate these WBL


experiences for students. All required components of a high quality work-based learning program or district-wide systems are


coordinated through one (or more) designated WBL coordinator(s) who serves as the primary point of communication at the


school or district for all other stakeholders. The WBL coordinator shall manage the work-based learning program and is


ultimately responsible for ensuring that all components of the WBL Framework are met as outlined in High School Policy


2.103.


Job Functions

Supervision of Students


  • Supervise and provide adequate monitoring of student activities
