SALARY: The salary range for this position is $54,006.47 to $88,480.59 for Schedule A, and $54,006.47 to $84,056.57 for Schedule B. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range. For current Judiciary employees, salary upon promotion or advancement will be an increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.Judiciary employees hired prior to June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule A. Newly hired individuals, and Judiciary employees hired on or after June 3, 2014, are considered Schedule B.

The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking an organized, customer-service oriented individual with exceptional total quality management, organizational awareness, and interpersonal skills to join the Office of Probation Services, Juvenile Intensive Supervision Program (JISP) in the Northern Regional Office (Montclair, NJ). The selected individual must be able to handle a variety of technical and client support functions in a fast paced office and field environment.


The Intensive Supervision Program (ISP) is a program designed to treat both adult inmates and juvenile offenders in the community under strict supervision. The individual having gone through a rigorous screening process, is given an opportunity to abide by a set of rules and thereby earn their continued release to the community. The reorientation to the community depends upon that individual’s commitment to change.


Note : Although this position is located in the ISP Montclair office, travel to Central Office (Trenton, NJ), and other Judiciary locations is required. IS P/JISP is a statewide program. Management reserves the right to reassign employees based on operational needs.


REMOTE WORK : The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.


Example of Duties


  • Responsible for covering field officers’ caseloads in their absence
  • Assist field officers in verifying curfews, treatment and community service attendance
  • Prepare JISP assessments and assist JISP field supervision officers in developing community sponsors, network teams, group and individual community service sites, and employment opportunities for applicants and participants in the JISP program
  • Coordinate volunteer services of JISP graduates
  • Conduct JISP intakes and have participants sign conditions of JISP
  • Provide court coverage as needed/required
  • May supervise a caseload of in-patient/residential placement participants
  • Perform other related duties as required
Court Services Officers work a 40 hour work week and an alternate work schedule which includes nights and/or Saturdays and Sundays.


Qualifications


Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree and one year of paraprofessional experience in case management in the field of probation or community development.


Substitution: Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute additional paraprofessional or professional experience on a year-for-year basis with one year of such experience being equal to 30 semester hour credits. An associate's degree and two years of additional paraprofessional or professional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Supplemental Information


Driver's License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.


Authorization to Work: US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
