• $2,000 Sign On Bonus ***

1st $1,000: After 3 months of employment

2nd $1,000: After 6 months of employment

Essential Duties

• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with 42 CFR and HIPAA regulations.
• Modify treatment plans to comply with changes in patient status.
• Confer with family members or others close to patients to keep them informed of treatment planning and progress (written authorization by patient must be obtained refer to Federal Confidentiality Regulations for substance abuse treatment).
• Assess individuals degree of drug use by analyzing drug screening samples.
• Provide patients or family members with information about addiction issues and about available services or programs, making appropriate referrals when necessary.
• Intervene as an advocate for patients or patients to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
• Supervise or direct other workers providing services to patients.
• Counselors are expected to spend 50% of their work time in face-to-face counseling, contacts.
• Performs tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances.
• Develop patient treatment plans and conducts continued stay review based on research, clinical experience, and patients histories - using SAMMS assessment on computer.
• Provide patient intakes (biopsychosocial assessment), treatment planning, case coordination, staffing, aftercare planning and discharge with individual and group therapy for a full spectrum of referral sources.
• Special population caseloads may be assigned based on the needs of the agency.
• Caseloads vary depending on the content of the caseload and depend upon other responsibilities.
• Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting patients (written authorization by patient must be obtained refer to Federal Confidentiality Regulations for substance abuse treatment).
• Follow progress of discharged patients to determine effectiveness of treatments.
• Interview patients, review records and confer with other professionals to evaluate individuals mental health and physical condition and to determine their suitability for participation in a specific program.
• Promotes a welcoming, positive customer service culture which encourages quality patient outcomes and promotes staff retention
• Provides direct clinical service to a full caseload, achieving a minimum of 20 billable hours weekly.
• Counsel patients individually, or in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, or making changes.
• Review and evaluate patients progress in relation to measurable goals described in treatment and care plans.
• Promotes positive customer service culture which encourages quality patient outcomes.
• Complete and maintain accurate records or reports regarding patients histories and progress, services provided, or other required information.
• Plan or implement follow-up or aftercare programs for patients to be discharged from treatment programs.

Schedule: Monday - Friday(6:30a - 3:00p)with rotating weekend schedule

Required Experience

Education and/or Experience: Associate degree (or higher) in Addiction Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or related field ispreferred; Experience in/with substance use, detox programs, medication-assisted treatment, behavioral healthcare and/or community relationsencouraged to apply.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:IAODAPCACertified Alcohol and Other Drugs Counselor (CADC) required or able to obtain within allotted time from hire date
