Overview Benefit Counselors are responsible for helping individuals and families understand and access their benefits. They provide advice and assistance to clients on a variety of topics, including health insurance, retirement planning, and other financial matters. They also help clients understand their rights and responsibilities under the law. Detailed Job Description Benefit Counselors are responsible for providing advice and assistance to individuals and families on a variety of topics related to benefits. They help clients understand their rights and responsibilities under the law, and provide advice on how to access and use their benefits. Benefit Counselors also help clients understand their options for health insurance, retirement planning, and other financial matters. Skill Requirements Benefit Counselors must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They must be able to explain complex topics in a clear and concise manner. They must also be able to work with a variety of clients, including those with limited English proficiency.
