About the Role

Rocket Lawyer pioneered online legal services in the United States and the United Kingdom, and we have recently launched in France, Spain and Netherlands. The proprietary and patented Rocket Lawyer technology platform enables the creation of legal documentation and delivery of legal advice from lawyers knowledgeable in local laws, in any language.

Rocket Lawyer’s cross-functional corporate development team is focused on driving corporate and strategic initiatives, analyzing market activity and competitive dynamics, and sourcing, evaluating, executing and integrating M&A and strategic investment opportunities.

As Rocket Lawyer’s Corporate Development Analyst Intern you will work closely with senior executives to inform and accelerate critical aspects of Rocket Lawyer's business strategy. The role will work in close partnership with cross functional stakeholders to identify and evaluate inorganic growth opportunities and catalyze action against these opportunities by sourcing and executing strategic business opportunities and alliances.

Given the cross functional nature of this role it requires an exceptional leader with the ability to partner and influence at the highest levels of the organization while also navigating project teams toward the successful execution and integration of deals.

This role is remote, but interns must be located in Arizona, California, Colorado, North Carolina, or Utah. Please note the internship will start June 12th and end August 18th. 40 hours a week are required for the duration of the internship. This position is reporting to the VP of Business Development.

A Day in the Life:

  • Deliver insightful analyses of market opportunities & drive valuation and strategic analyses of opportunities for Rocket Lawyer
  • Develop key internal processes and artifacts for the organization's corporate development function
  • Build effective relationships with colleagues from across the organization
  • Develop an understanding of the competitive landscape and assist in building relationships with key players in the industry
  • Engage with the broader organization (product, engineering, marketing, etc.) to further qualify opportunities and refine our areas of strategic interest
  • Assist post-acquisition integration program management team by ensuring that cross-functional teams are all executing on their respective M&A integration plans
  • Support acquisitions including due diligence, deal negotiations and integration for M&A. This includes coordinating a multitude of internal teams in the evaluation of technical employees, technology solutions and other product diligence

Qualifications & Preferred Skills:

  • Demonstrated passion for technology through work experience or non-work activities
  • Junior or Senior pursuing undergraduate degree in a relevant industry
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills & executive presence: able to articulately present and debate recommendations with senior leadership
  • Exceptional aptitude for creating structured quantitative and qualitative analyses
  • Previous internship experience in investment banking, venture capital, private equity, or finance at a technology company
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to formulate insights around complex business problems
  • Experience working with large data sets and using practical statistical analyses
