Senior Corporate Accountant

Position Summary:
The Senior Corporate Accountant will support our client's finance and accounting organizations by assisting with preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and established company policies, assisting in the month-end and year-end close process, preparing financial statements reconciliations, and performing ongoing and ad hoc analysis of business results. A successful Senior accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles.
Essential Job Responsibilities
1. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the general ledger
2. Support month-end close, including reconciliation of key balance sheet components, calculating accruals, posting journal entries, and review of GL accounts.
3. Perform financial analysis of month end actuals versus plan, including the calculation of KPIs and preparation of management reporting.
4. Evaluate and implement internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX standards.
5. Support annual audit efforts.
6. Maintain current documentation of procedures and proactively identify opportunities to improve process efficiencies.
7. Conduct ad-hoc analysis as requested by management.
8. This role will work cross functionally with Operations, Sales, and Marketing.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
· 4 years of accounting / audit experience
· Experience with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, including P&L reviews
· Experience preparing and reviewing general ledger account reconciliations
· Advanced knowledge of GAAP
· Advanced knowledge and experience in Excel
· High attention to detail, ambitious, organized, and self-starting
· Effective and positive communication skills – ability to present to our clients leadership
Preferred
· CPA with 2 years in Public Accounting
· 2 years experience in CPG / B2C brand
· Experience working in QuickBooks
Candidate must reside in EST or CST.
